Firstly, bear in mind Focus is Universal...it's part of that deal. For Focus this short window deal is actually an interesting twist on the platform release idea. If a film underperforms in first two weeks 'limited release', it can head straight to PVOD without having to wait out the remaining 10 weeks. If it works, it can expand beyond AMC to Regal and so on, who insist on the traditional window and haven't signed the deal for the 17 days.
