  1. Presuming that until a vaccine is widely distributed it's gonna all be cyclical - there is merit to an idea that will come a moment in early spring where another Tenet could step up to the plate and do decently before a third wave of lockdowns happens. Question, what could that film be.

  3. the part abut WB supposedly considering (but denying to Deadline) a 17-21 day window is interesting...
  4. "the current plan is to release “Come Play” on Premium VOD November 20. That’s a three-week theatrical window, and almost no one blinked."
  5. Including Cinemark? Because that's the other main holdout on the window with Regal now closed down...
  6. They're supposed to be doing a "virtual premiere" thing for it tomorrow, got an email with a sign up link as a Focus newsletter subscriber. This is almost definitely getting the 17 day window like Kajillionaire. Is it playing at Cinemarks?
  7. Apparently it's due to Bond. They don't have the money to put up an Oscar campaign with it held up... https://www.showbiz411.com/2020/10/27/scooped-here-mgm-moves-aretha-franklin-jennifer-hudson-movie-respect-out-of-oscar-race-to-august-2021-because-of-money-problems

  10. Seems basically all of Universal's and Focus' films will be aiming for the 3 week PVOD
  11. plus Dec 3 US/Dec 16 UK are the absolute earliest dates it could land on VOD/Blu-ray anyway because of the theatrical window. If they wanna rush it on there they have to renegotiate with the major chains.
  12. Firstly, bear in mind Focus is Universal...it's part of that deal. For Focus this short window deal is actually an interesting twist on the platform release idea. If a film underperforms in first two weeks 'limited release', it can head straight to PVOD without having to wait out the remaining 10 weeks. If it works, it can expand beyond AMC to Regal and so on, who insist on the traditional window and haven't signed the deal for the 17 days.
  13. depends on where it's released on PVOD. If it happens I think it will only be in the US ad maybe UK too if second lockdown with cinema closures happens.
