Some blasphemous takes on the game...

Alien Isolation, what a great game. Too bad we'll never see a sequel...

I like all the Alien movies.
I do, too. They go from solid to amazing (i'm not counting AvP). No bad apples, really.

I like it. Sure, it borrows heavily from the fist two movies but personally, i'm okay with that. A well executed "new version" of Alien(s)? I'm down.
-
First book should have been 3 movies. I feel like some characters needed more flashing out.

Dune has had way better Sunday drops than most movies so far, because of PLF.
Sure but my point is will it have a better SUN drop than last week's? We'll know tomorrow...

700m final worldwide total?
Thereabout. Hopefully it'll cross it, might be close, though.

Don’t know about that. I’m on the west coast and spring break starts this week.
I was taking Batman's numbers for comparison and it did -38% vs -30% the week before, mid-March. Will this year be different?
-
WB is projecting a 25% drop on SUN for Dune. Good luck with that. I believe drops should be worse than last week since the brunt of spring break should be over on MON.

I wish audiences would have come out in droves to watch this, after the reviews and WoM I thought a massive increase was given.
Well, the increase vs the original will be pretty massive. Agreed, though, it deserves even more. But as long as Messiah gets made, i'm good.

When it'll start losing PLFs drops will get bigger (vs some other movies) i'm affraid coz it's so reliant on them.

You have to understand that he instantly saw the 10000 years of his genetic line, his fate, his ancestors, the past, the future. The infinite present. He is now an omniscient being. It is inescapable. It's a bit of determinism too.
"Paul" dies when he drinks that blue liquid. Whoever comes out... is the Kwisatz Haderach. Doomed to be trapped in his destiny that he can't escape from.
I thought the movie explained it just enough for me, but I understand how it can be confusing.
If he knows all the possible futures then wouldn't he also know how to prevent it? How to prevent millions from dying? Why can't he escape from destiny? Terminator taught me "There's no fate but what we make for ourselves".
-
As much as i loved the movie i share the sentiment that the last 30 minutes felt rushed. I have not read the books and i felt Paul's "transformation" wasn't really earned. From reluctant messiah swept up in the events he seemingly out of nowhere goes all bonkers and wants to rule the galaxy. Don't drink water that is blue, it's bad for you, i guess.

Just came back from Dune. This is what theaters were made for. What a treat!
A great 2nd weekend drop but damn you forum for making me feel just ever so slightly disappointed lol.
There will be some roadblocks on the road to 300m, namely when it'll start losing PLF screens, so i'm having my doubts. Couple weeks ago anything above 200m would have been gravy, it will easily exceed that. I should be happy.

The Sat jump for Dune will be massive. We saw with Avatar 2 that the long runtime led to a bit muted Friday increases (because on Friday, most people still have to work, its only logical) while the Sat jumps and Sun holds were amazing. I expect a similar pattern for Dune going forward.
I'm banking on it.

Maybe Dune goes up 80%-ish on SAT and we still arive at 50m or close to. I mean, it had a great SAT increase on its opening weekend (minus previews).

It'll probably jump like 50% on friday and we'll all come down back to earth, i'm telling ya!

These 2nd weekend predictions are getting pretty wild. Almost too good to be true. I'm trying to keep expectations in check but you guys are making it difficult.

Distant colony setting, about group of teenagers, takes place between 1 and 2, another Ripley-sque lead character, nasty violence.
Distant colony setting, taking place between 1 and 2, nasty violence, all get a thumbs-up from me.
Group of teenagers.... again.... iffy.
But really, any concept can be good, what matters is the execution.
