  1. Excuses. You can make digital look however you want. It's on the cinematographer to do that (with input from the director).
  2. Nothing absurd about falling in love quickly. If Leo had survived who knows if it would have worked out between the two, maybe they would have grown apart but that's not the point and it's not like she didn't move on. For those few days love burned brightly.
  3. Huge TUE. Surprised Titanic wasn't number 1 on Valentine's...
  4. Aaaah, i understand. We are talking about the day-to-day comparison here... Anyway, getting close to A1's admissions is pretty amazing still, considering how huge A1 was.
  5. How come? On monday it was reported A1 is only 138K ahead and today, 2 days later, the lead shrank to only 76K. How can it fall short? Am i reading something wrong here?
  6. So in France A2 will actually be ahead of A1 in tickets sold? Amazing....
  7. Titanic is one for the ages. I remember watching it at a preview screening when it originaly released. One of the best theater going experiences i've ever had and the only standing ovation i have ever experienced (people are more reserved here). Btw, i loved the old days where you went to watch a movie without 100s of people already telling you what to expect. Internet is great but also not so great.

  9. At least here in Europe the admissions drop is pretty minimal, like in Germany or France. We know an event when we see one.
  10. If A2 is underwhelming in terms of tickets sold, so is TGM. Their difference will be minimal. You could say but A2 is the sequel to one of the biggest DOM movies ever, sure, but when has a sequel to a phenomenon outgrossed its original? A2 will come pretty close (again, with the help of higher ATP).
  11. So you agree with the good folks of Japan that A2 is better than Interstellar?
  12. Because it'll be at like 637m after a 11m weekend. Doing another 63m is very unlikely. The only way i can maybe see it reaching 700m is with a late re-expansion or re-release. As for Titanic, the rather wide 3D re-release in 2012 did 58m, i may be wrong but this latest re-release seems like a much smaller affair, much more limited.
  13. I'm no expert on french box office but 14m seems pretty much locked.
  14. Well, yes and no. The original had much better exchange rates. A2 has beat all time records in local currency in quite a number of markets because tickets are expensive. Not so much in the USA...
  15. Dune seems to have done very well on home video / streaming. Hopefully that translates to a healthy boost for the sequel so that Villeneuve / studio might be persuaded to continue the franchise.
  16. Kind of sad that that huge covid wave hit China right when A2 openend. Otherwise it would have had a legitimate chance of beating Endgame. Imagine A1 first and A2 in second place....
