  1. I was totally in that what went wrong mode when I saw Shrek 2 on Wednesday and there was only like 15 other people in my theater other then my group. I was so shocked to see the weekend numbers.
  2. I was 5 when I first saw JP and I loved it! Drug my parents to the theaters to see LW when I was 7. I was so excited for LW. I loved movies from a really young age, even ones not meant for kids so young. I was kinda strange like that. My favorite movie when I was 8 was Titanic and I saw that movie in theaters 5 times.
  3. I don't find it boring at all. And I think you are undervaluing the "Spielberg Flourish". I mean...
  4. DMC is not very intelligent. Black Pearl is far more intelligent. And the first Jurassic Park is better made than any Verbinski film IMO. I do LOVE The Ring though.
  5. You're talking about the weekday records of TDK, right? And not the Avengers records its beating as well, right?
  6. Cool poster! I have a feeling Fox will be on their game with the marketing. Wondering if this will beat Insurgent OW. Currently I predict it will open a little lower but have better legs and finish with about the same dom. Obviously it will kill it OS.
  7. There was a time I questioned whether it would ever be beaten. Granted I was young then and didn't fully understand inflation, nor could have predicted 3D.
  8. And I have to say, I'm getting the feeling JW will cross the $600m mark by the time it's done. It's a fun crowd pleaser that is enjoyable to re watch and it still has two more weekends before direct competition from Terminator (which I can't see making much more than $50m max OW). Also, the "biggest opening" buzz will surely up the curiosity factor for those who were more hesitant to go see the movie.
  9. For whatever reason, I never felt that The Avengers should be comparable to Titanic or Avatar. I prefered TDK being third place.
  10. Godzilla was the Prometheus of last year. I was slightly panicked that Mad Max would be the Godzilla/Prometheus of this year. Thankfully that didn't happen.
  11. I wonder if that could happen for me. I was SO excited for the movie but ended up only seeing it once. I tried to convince myself after the experience that it was at least pretty good but the more time that passed the more I seemed to dislike the movie and be annoyed by a lot of it.
  12. And if they give us any characters we can remember or care about. And maybe if they have those involved in the making of the trailer more involved in the story and tone of the film.
  13. Haha, sorry not the official title. I was attempting to be funny, but I suppose I could see them using something like that.
  14. Love that spot! Jurassic Universe will be huge in 2017!
  15. I will admit, my expectations (especially after the fandango stats came out) became unrealistic as well. But $100 3-day was still doable. It made it to $87m, just needed a little push. Maybe more peen shots could have got the wom to increase just enough to get it there.
  16. I really needed Fifty Shades to cross $100m for the 3-day and AS was huge and although the money goes towards 2015's cumulative it is still a 2014 movie.
  17. I would say Furious 7 exceeded most expectations as well. I was predicting $115-120m.
  18. I'd love for that to happen. 2015 was supposed to be major! And so far it's been pretty good, but it could use some more surprise hits to give it that little push that it needs. Then we just need MJ2 to make over $165m and Star Wars to make over $180m which for a late December release would be ridonkulous and would guarantee it the top spot for the year by a healthy margin!
  19. Yeah, I think $100m is locked as well. But I want it to go a decent amount past that. Somewhere in the $120 range.
  20. I think Spy will cross $30m for the weekend. Disappointing still as I predicted at least $40m'ish. Insidious 3 should have made at least $30m'ish since I2 crossed $40m. And Entourage honestly made about what I was expecting. So overall, sad weekend. I plan on seeing Spy tonight. Everything I've heard has me excited for it. Hopefully it has good legs and can leg it's way a decent amount past $100m.
