Unlike K3, D3 has no confusion in its BO records! Both Taran Adarsh and BOI seems to have very reliable and transparent BO stats this time.
Still a slight difference of 2-3 Cr. But that's so much better than the 40-50 Cr difference of K3!

Bollywood witnessed the peaks of Aamir mania and Dhoom mania on Friday. Hindi movie Dhoom 3, which opened to an earth shattering response, has done historic collection at the Indian Box Office on the first day of its release. Aditya Chopra's latest production has turned out to be the biggest opener for Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra. Beating the record of Chennai Express, the movie has also become the biggest opener of 2013 as well as all time. Dhoom 3, which has three versions like Hindi, Telugu and Tamil, released in approximately 4500 screens across the country on December 20. This action thriller, which had a huge amount of advance ticket booking, registered 95-100% occupancy in both single screens and multiplexes across the country in the morning and matinee shows and its business improved further in the later shows on Friday. Shahrukh Khan's Chennai Express, which is the biggest opener of all time, has collected Rs 33.12 crores nett from 3500 (including Tamil and Telugu versions) at the Indian Box Office on the first day of its release. Aamir Khan's Dhoom 3 has already beaten its record by releasing in a large number of screens. The movie has beaten the first day collection record of Chennai Express. Trade experts predict that it is really historic opening for Dhoom 3, which is new record in the Indian cinema. As per the early trends, this much-hyped movie has collected Rs 40+ crores nett from all its versions (Hindi, Telugu and Tamil) at the Indian Box Office on its opening day. It is expected to cross Rs 100 crore mark in the domestic market in just 3 days. Meanwhile, Dhoom 3, which has released in 700 screens overseas, has also taken the international Box Office by storm. The movie has done fantabulous business in the foreign countries like USA, UAE, UK, New Zealand and Australia. According to trade expert Taran Adarsh, the action thriller has raked in £ 247,783 in UK, A$ 157,207 in Australia NZ$ 69,162 in New Zealand on its opening day.

Here D3 releases in 8 theaters, tomorrow. Most number of theaters for a Hindi movie in Sri Lanka. Previously held by K3.(5 theaters) About 60% in every theater is sold here.( for all shows, throughout Friday) Its 2.00 p.m. here. By the evening, it'll be sold out everywhere! Highest grossing Hindi movie in Sri Lanka is ETT. But D3 would break that easily! Never seen such a huge buzz for a Hindi movie. Not even for Hollywood movie. IM3 was the biggest movie so far this year, but D3 seems even bigger!

The barrel scene was horrible in my opinion. They looked like they were characters in Donkey Kong.

Frozen could have had $23M~24M if it hadn't been for the storm. amazing. I think Dos will still do fine. at least $260M is still attainable. no? not all middle earth movies have to make over $300M.

But how do you determine it's not? Kal's right. It destroyed box office records and sold a massive amount on HV. Avatar is not my favourite film, but to say it is not loved is kind of silly.

Lets see Juggernaut 2009 is the most loved film since Titanic, it outsolde TA1 on homevideo by over 30M copies..
The Soundtrack of the Juggernaut also was a top seller. . The first film is a 10 billion+ windfall all by itself as a moneymaker. and is posted in most peoples greatest movie experiences of all time.
Lets put it this way James Camerons name on the title with Avatar is enough to outsell Avengers 2 at this point..lol
Though we can expect theaters to do the unimaginable again and have an Avatar 2 Day in 300+ special theaters domestically and Worldwide just to get a glipse of the sequel and the world will come running.
Did I mention in a far bigger OS market Avengers was only able to make 800+mil lol and 600+M(Which could be its max)
Lets see Juggernaut 1 760+mil and 2B+ OS.. I believe Avengers 2 is not even in the same playing film as Juggernaut 2 my friend.
Logic over Disney Avengers fanboys everytime(though I too am a fanboy, Im not out of my mind to think disney has anything that competes with the name James Cameron) lol
