I didn't even realize it was based on a game! Never heard of it.

Right now the movie is tracking to surpass its production budget domestically, so as long as it doesn't COMPLETELY bomb overseas you could probably get away with doing a sequel.

The second movie would necessit a way bigger budget (it's more like an Adventure game).

    Spoiler

Yup Runaway is a little-known video-game franchise. They are point and click game (my favorite vg-genre) and I grew up with them.. The first one as clearly the weakest story of the three... And the third one is quite amazing and remarkable... So I don't know..

Betamax Reagan is also my favorite part of SCP because I just love so much conspiracy-movies and this kind of thing.

    Runaway, A Road Adventure

Both Robert DeNiro and Melissa McCarthy are completely wasted in this and the two leads don't manage to pick up the slacks. The plot actually gets really confusing in the second half and by the end I completely forgot why anyone was doing anything. The only element I can say I liked were the three drag queens, the movie introduces them without being judgmental or making them the butt of some joke, which I thought was a nice touch. Unfortunately, not even Paul Feig can save the rest of this dreck from being anything but an unfunny snoozer.

Looking back, I think the critics for Runaway are absolutely justified and that I won't be able to do a second movie. I failed to transcribe the perfect confuse feeling of the game in the movie, it's just confuse and not funny.

I will probably use the story of Runaway 2 & 3 -  that I really like - to create a new franchise...

Favreau can handle a Voltron movie just fine with that kind of resume.

I think Voltron because of the number of the characters is close to IM2 and the movie was a complete mess because of the inability of Favreau to direct big projects like this. I really don't like him.

  13. End of the run for Paul Feig.

While Runaway, A Road Adventure will be released in a few weeks, Genius Films has announced that important changes will be made for the sequel. Still scheduled for Year 2, Runaway - The Dream of the Turtle will be heavily modified. First victim of this decision following the unfavourable reception received by the film? The director, Paul Feig. Feig is simply fired from this sequel, and his script work will be thrown away. And Joe Carnahan was chosen to script and direct the sequel. The objective, a film independent of the first one which will not refer to the events of this one, but also a film with more impressive action, an exotic adventure, and a more present humor.

    King Edgar

If The Curse of Monkey Island will only be released in July, Genius Films is more than confident about the film, and is already preparing the sequel. For the studio, it is obvious that Edgar Wright must return to directing. But this one wants other things. It is rumored in Hollywood that Wright is about to sign a contract for two films with Genius Films. He would direct the sequel to Monkey Island, but first he would shoot a more personal film: Rockmance with Lily Collins.

    Moore is a Genius

In an excerpt from a forthcoming interview, Genius Films' CEO said that their collaboration with Michael Moore will last regardless of the success of Trump's America, the documentary produced by the studio. "At Genius, we love Michael very much, he has a tone of his own and is unbelievable. It's a pride for a studio like ours to be able to produce this kind of film, and we continue to do it I'm sure."

CAYOM typically has seen overseas grosses as an after thought. I think this needs to change. CAYOM should reflect the real box office when it comes to China and overseas grosses.

On that note, I'd love to see (and I will be making) overseas predictions!

Yup I think it's a good idea. It's very hard to predict tho..

These fantasy movies always do better overseas anyway, you'll be fine.

The thing is that the main actor is black because I thought it wouldl be cool that a Heroic fantasy franchise would be carried by a young brave black man (instead of a redhead teen in the book). In real life it would hurt its potential Overseas I think.
