Considering this is not a movie about humans in a city but a movie about a robot and animals in the wild, those are good numbers

DWA always struggles to perform strong ow's for "original" releases. 40m ow would be great.
-
I'm not too much on the Mario's bandwagon but fuck it, if this is going to do gangbuster #'s Worldwide, I hope this dethrones fucking Frozen. Cannot stand that movie being #1..

It has now exactly matched Sing 2's box office gross through day 36, with Puss more than doubling its weekday numbers!

Ive said for years that a Shrek 5 that is close in quality to Shrek 1 or 2 clears 500M DOM at minimum. It would have so much potential its not even funny.
Or close to the quality of Poos in Boots

Where's the weekend thread.

I don't care about the awards. I'm just happy it is doing good numbers at the BO.

The Greatest Showman technically did not go below its opening 3-day weekend until Week 7 but that was with Wednesday opening and Christmas Eve deflation... both of which I suppose apply to Puss as well.
Well Puss is the first for a sequel.

And once again everyone over overestimating the limited videogame movies genre, hahahah

Year since commenting here..
Puss in Boots flopping? All right but, when was the last time DreamWorks Animation had a true and legit hit?

Amazing how Frozen 1 survived titans like Minions, Despicable Me 3, Finding Dory or Incredibles 2 in worldwide grosses. Only its sequel, Frozen 2, could break the record.
I don't see another animated movie taking that crown besides a new Shrek movie which hasn't even been confirmed.

Given what Universal had announced for Bond (trailer 4 months before the film) and FF9 (trailer coming also 4 months only) and what Pixar did with TS4 (trailer only 4 months before), I don't think we will get an M2 trailer before March 2020.
Does this apply to every movie now? Oh, but you are referring only to trailers, what about Teasers? We can expect one for Minions?

Looks like Frozen 2 has delivered the biggest second weekend ever for an animated flick
But not adjusted. We know who is always the winner

Just one question: Do studios still give 3D share precentage for OWs?

According to this site Frozen II just had the biggest single day ever in Japan: https://worldofkj.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=55322&start=12425
Is this a reliable source?
As excelent as it is, it is no surprise. Frozen 1 is second biggest movie ever ib Japan.

This was never going to get Incredibles 2 sized grosses. Some people thought this was the most anticipated animated movie of all time and whatnot

book me for 530-550, but the film could pull a Ralph as I find it very mediocre. It's neither all out kids pleaser, nor music is good enough to keep adults going.
In fact I fucking hated the music.
So not a good movie at all?

Despicable Me now is what Shrek was in 2010.

Talking animals movies is the most prostituted theme in animation and that doesnt guarantee a hit, especially nowadays. Especially in the wild
