  1. The time of the trailer release may also be a factor. This one was released after midnight in Europe.
  2. I don't think anything will get even close to a billion this year. This includes WW84, Bond and Black Widow.
  3. Breakeven point should be around $500 million for a $225 million movie. I don't see how it gets anywhere close to that number if they go ahead with the August/September release.
  4. WB is going to lose money on Tenet regardless of when they release it. Mulan's fate depends mostly on China but I think all big budget movies are fucked for another 12 months or so. Studios need to go ahead and start releasing smaller movies.
  5. Why remake Twister ? Just make a new Tornado movie or a sequel.
  6. They have ramped up the TV ads so if they don't postpone it within a week then it'll likely keep the date.
  7. Everything depends on whether there are journalists investigating these allegations or whether the woman in question decides to go the legal route.
  8. Yeah, this looks like Sony doing a favor to the theater chains by buying an indie film just to help theaters re-open.
  9. Not the same situation obviously but Spielberg didn't recast TJ Miller in Ready Player One. Although he was a minor character and they may have reduced his role to a bare minimum for all I know.
  10. Larrain is a damn good director of off-beat biopics. See Neruda and Jackie. It will probably premiere at Cannes or Venice 2020 so that's when we'll find out what he can do with Kristen Stewart.
  11. They are probably running the trailer as a digital ad. It is very common and most studios do it.
  12. According to ispot.tv, they haven't started running any ads since the first wave of ads in May. https://www.ispot.tv/ad/ZgSo/tenet-movie-trailer
  13. It'll be interesting to see if it gets to the breakeven mark of $500 million WW under these circumstances.
  14. Anya Taylor-Joy doesn't work as a young Charlize. They must be casting her for a different role.
  15. There are so many unknowns right now that I think WB will take anything around $500 million for a mid-July release. They also need to release a helluva second trailer.
  16. Air-conditioning is a major issue in places like movie theaters. How can you not have air-conditioning in a closed place full of people but then the air currents make social distancing irrelevant. It doesn't really matter if people are sitting 6 feet apart if the air currents are carrying the germs. I think the intensity of pandemic will have to slow down considerably before theaters will open everywhere. Mid-July is going to be touch and go.
  17. There may be insurance issues with new film productions as well. I don't see many insurance companies taking any risks this year unless there is a well-documented cure and/or a vaccine readily available.
  18. This is ridiculous. Cinemas will start opening in many parts of the World within the next few weeks.
  19. I think they'll start opening theaters in June and the first big release should be in July.
  20. US will peak sometimes this month and the numbers should get to a more manageable levels in 6-8 weeks after that. I think some theaters will start opening in July but summer blockbuster season is likely done for.
  21. Everything depends on how hard a country or a region is hit. People in Wuhan , Lombardy and even New York are going to shy away from crowded places for months to come. Cold, dark and crowded movie theaters are the last place you want to be during and after an epidemic.
  22. My Spy should end up on VOD/Streaming by late April.
