^^^ TASM will make more than 260 .I think it will do 280+ based on the competition. TDKR is a major competition but it is its only competition until August 10 and TASM should be around 225 by the time TDKR is released. -
Nice. It should have a 60+ weekend with 20+ Friday.

Directors like Raimi (after SM2) and Nolan only see studio interference when the studios are convinced that the movie is going to be a disaster. I am pretty sure that Nolan didn't see any interference from WB for TDKR.

Probably but its evening business on the East Coast appears to be very strong.

^^^ Savages is a perfect counter-programming against a Superhero movie but the problem is that MM and Ted are taking away a lot of non-Superhero audience. UNI should've moved Savages back when they decided to move Ted up to 06/29.

I am expecting around 20 million for Spidey today so 58 million early estimate may be a bit low.

Yep. It isn't a family movie. Don't expect a big saturday jump either. -
TDKR will hurt TASM on its opening weekend. It is anybody's guess after that as the lineup gets weaker and there won't be any direct competition for weeks. TASM is not going to lose most of its theaters until August so I think it will have better legs than people are expecting. It will come down to whether young females are interested in this movie or not because TF1 didn't have that.

15.8 takes it to 75 million 3 days. TF1's weekend jumps will take it past 130 so this may be why Sony is so confident about 130. I think it will do slightly better because most holdovers just got gutted in terms of Theater count and I think it has a good WOM(Its RT rating improved from 4.1 to 4.2 and IMDB went from 7.7 to 7.8 over the past couple of days).

Not true. One example,. RS had Snow white at low 60s while MTC had it at 43.

The actual tracking that studios rely on had TASM making between 130-150 million.

I think Ray and other analysts are expecting a strong Friday-Sunday for some reason. As I mentioned earlier, Sony was predicting 120 million after the 35 million opening but they upgraded it to 130 million after Wed. numbers. I don't think Thursday is going to be a good day for TASM as I am not expecting a good hold at all so either everyone is just winging it or they are seeing something (strong presales for this weekend. Maybe ?) that we are not.

What ? No mention of Batman. You guys really think that WB will put the Batman franchise in cold storage for a decade. Batman will be rebooted before summer of 2017. Guaranteed. They may not call it a reboot but there is no way you can replace Nolan, his crew, Bale and other actors without practically rebooting the franchise.

Superbad and Zombieland are better movies overall but Easy A is the Emma Stone show. It is a must-watch movie if you like Emma Stone.

Awful list. Only top two will end up being in the top 10 performances of the year. Secondly, I have big problem with one of their assumptions. If you are going to take the budget into account then you cannot completely ignore the Worldwide gross. A movie like The Lorax made only $100 million Overseas. Mad3 will easily quadruple it while making the same amount domestically so why punish it for a few extra millions in production budget when Dreamworks Ani will end up getting more bang for their buck?
