  1. RS had Battleship tracking at mid 70s three-four weeks ago but I will say that RS has done better recently. Their TA numbers(160s) were actually closer to industry insider tracking numbers as reported by Nikki.
  2. ^^^ I agree with Jacksparrow. I will add that this whole reboot , remake debate is tired and is completely played out. Who here thinks that WB will shelf Batman franchise for a decade because they may not want to reboot it? Marvel won't shelf Iron Man either after RDJ is done with the franchise. This is the era in which Super Hero movies are making tons of money. If you run a studio and you are going to sit out important characters like Spider Man, Superman and Batman for an extended period of time then you are seriously an idiot.
  3. Variety says TA on track for 55-60 million weekend but no Friday numbers so I don't know.
  4. ^^ I think they forgot TA's numbers but I think these numbers will keep getting better. Ar least, I hope so.
  5. For the day, Battleship -- headlining Taylor Kitsch, Brooklyn Decker and Liam Neeson -- is looking at a gross in the $11 million to $12 million range, including more than $400,000 from Thursday's midnight runs. Sacha Baron Cohen’s R-rated comedy The Dictator and Lionsgate’s comedy What to Expect When You’re Expecting aren’t faring much better. From Paramount, Dictator is projected to gross in the $5 million range on Friday for a five-day debut of $20 million to $21 million (the pic opened Wednesday) and a three-day bow of $13 million to $14 million, notably less than the openings of Baron Cohen’s Borat ($26 million) and Bruno ($30 million). What to Expect When You’re Expecting is on track for a $4.5 million Friday, putting it at $13 million to $14 million for the weekend. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com//news/box-office-battleship-dictator-avengers-what-to-expect-326706
  6. I'm sorry but these numbers are on the lower end for all the movies. 12 million TD, low 50s TA, 15 for WTE and 30 for BTSHP are just about the worst case scenario numbers.
  7. SBC's problem is that he is playing the same character with different accents but same jokes. He needs to play a more regular character.
  8. 1-1.5 million midnights will be good for Battleship but my fear is that it will end up with DS type of numbers.
  9. Yes, it is a cross between "Coming To America" and Zohan.
  10. C cinemascore is probably because his fans were expecting this movie to be similar to his previous two. This is more like a regular movie with real Hollywood actors and situations. This is actually bad news because he is not going to attract any new fans at this point.
  11. Well, Disney said that they are going to lose 200 million on John Carter so I don't see how attacks on Stanton and John Carter are without any merit but I agree with your overall point. Most budget numbers cannot be trusted. This 120-130 million may not be really accurate, either.
  12. Moonrise Kingdom : Wes Anderson movie will open the Festival tonight.http://www.festival-cannes.fr/en/theDailyArticle/59130.htmlReviews :http://www.hollywood...anderson-325507http://www.timeout.c...se-kingdom.html
  13. It needs better weekday drops to get to $600 million.
  14. Iron Man 2 numbers are the ones to watch for sunday as TA has been mimicking IM2 numbers for past 3-4 days.IM2 -8,8%, + 138.5%, +49.7%TA -9%, 135%(est.), +53% (Est.)IM2 dropped 36.9% on Sunday.
  15. I think it will stay at 44-45 million. Nikki's 11 PM updates are usually in the ballpark.
  16. Thirst is really good but then I am a big Chan-wook Park fan. Best thing about both LTROI and Thirst is that they are both very, very raw movies in terms of interactions between characters.
  17. Gitesh Pandya ‏ @giteshpandya Sources tell me FRI heading to hi 20s for #Avengers & $10M for #DarkShadows. Wknd in vicinity of $90M & $30M.
  18. Any 75 million dollar movie is going to have a bunch of sell outs or else it isn't making 75 million. Sell out reports aren't really relevant unless you are taking about matinees and 1:00 AM shows getting sold out. Wait for numbers from Rth.
  19. It will drop by around 20%. This is just the nature of Box Office these days with Cheap Tuesdays inflating Box Office receipts. THG dropped about 4% on Tuesday and then 22% on Wednesday.
  20. That's pretty good. I think if you make demographics allowances its Monday/Tuesday drops are mirroring THG but it should have a better weekend drop.
  21. I think 12% drop will be par in this case. The movie is still in burn mode but cheap Tuesday should help. Anything better than 12% is good.
  22. Good drop but I don't see how anyone can use this Monday number to make predictions for either its second weekend or its final gross. It was clearly still burning off demand on Monday. Monday-Thursday drop will be a better indicator of where it is going.
