  1. Anyone know of an Oz only box office site, with forums, already sick of this place to be honest. The North American box office threads are unreadable for example, 40 pages of inane posts on this weekend's results already. The amount of ego floating around here from the owners is laughable. Might sit back and read only for amusement, or simply check the BOM charts and hit a couple of horror forums.
  2. Dude PA is never noted for it's logic, this is a spin off not a core movie, ergo they have taken some liabities with the mythology. Movie hasn't opened here yet, so no comment on the actual movie till later in the month.
  3. Over optismtic on Wolf Creek 2 for mine, thinking more like 1.7/4.1, the initial movie got a lot of support - if we discount a certain SBS reviewer who called it "unnecessary" - but can't see the same or better figures for the sequel. At this stage not seeing a "big" dark genre outing in 2014, could be a lean year for those of us travelling darker cinematic paths Be interesting to see how PA: The Marked Ones goes this month in comparison to PA 5, which I'm still not seeing as scheduled (must check the release calendars).
  4. Rumour has it the Governor might be back, picked this up off arrowinthehead, please don't go there, no honest enough of the Governor!
  5. Have to agree. No offense to Yank members, but that was melodramatic rubbish made for your market. Frack Moffat! Mind you most of the Xmas specials have been a bit shite if you were being honest. And this splitting the season into two parts is simply destroying the show for a lot of long term fans. Moffat maybe aiming to conquerer the U.S but his Commonwealth audience figures are drifting alarmingly through the last couple of seasons.
  6. Dark genre top ten 2013 (Figures Oz dollars, only top twenty earnings included, ie most movies would have earnt a bit extra) Ttitle, Date of Release, Distributor, Screens on release weekend, First Weekend Bow, Total Earnings while in top twenty. 1 World War Z 20 Jun 2013 Paramount 464 $6,003,673 $18,468,221 2 The Conjuring 18 July 2013 Warner Bros 135 $1,785,817 $8,839,611 3 Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters 07 Feb 2013 Paramount 334 $2,217,063 $8,017,773 4 Paranorman 10 Jan 2013 Universal 360 $937,587 $3,869,924 5 The Mortal Instruments: The City Of Bones 19 Aug 2013 Roadshow 230 $1,596,911 $3,815,057 6 Riddick 12 Sep 2013 Roadshow 186 $1,307,853 $3,426,446 7 Warm Bodies 11 Apr 2013 Icon 186 $976,068 $3,373,268 8 Scary Movie 5 11 Apr 2013 Roadshow 159 $1,234,805 $3,338,490 9 Beautiful Creatures 21 Feb 2013 Roadshow 228 $1,198,376 $2,813,488 10 The World's End 1 Aug 2013 Universal 224 $1,
  7. Only predicting the Oz take here Think it should do around $7 million, franchise is holding pretty solid through the first five movies and with a January release should have some room, though Wolf Creek 2 with loom large in February. Not seeing the other PA movie listed for release in this market, assume they haven't fixed dates as yet.
  8. G'day Jajang, think we ran across each other at movie marshall prior to it halting Where are you sourcing your box office figures, not seeing anything on urban or the mpdaa site Anyone got latest figures for Carrie, weekend ending boxing day I guess?
