Sep/Oct is what I've heard most recently. I'll be honest I didn't know there ever was an IMAX screen at Entertainment Quarter. I vaguely remember there being one in Dreamworld, on the Gold Coast, but I might be confusing it with an early 4DX type concept.

Thinking about the DR2, next summer looks pretty dead to me honestly. Is the current week before July 4 that bad? It's also the week before Minions, but maybe they should release it on the same day? Minion Impossible as next year's Barbenheimer lol

This is a good question. The studios are gonna be hitting that wall in the next decade or so. What the hell are they gonna make then? Hopefully the success of Oppenheimer and possible success of Napoleon means we get more historical epics.

Every session for Barbenheimer I’m checking, just casually, is like 90% full for tonight, and Saturday night. Even Liverpool which has struggled since Ed Square opened is selling loads of seats. Just insanity honestly.

I'd rather gouge my eyes out than read that lol Negativity about anything, but especially about movies and box office makes me feel bad, so I'm not sure how people can exist in that kind of forum without becoming just intensely miserable. Miserable in like, their personal lives as well.

It might not last, the wiki editors can be pretty ruthless if an article isn't noteworthy enough. If Barbie has like a 200+ OW and Oppenheimer breaks the 2nd place OW record it might stay up.

OK, that's fair enough for IMAX. I've just checked the only IMAX screen in Australia, in Melbourne, and that's all documentaries in the morning and Oppenheimer in the evening from next week. I'm just not familiar with how IMAX works anymore, our screen in Sydney has been closed since 2016 😭 It's meant to reopen later this year, so I'm hoping Oppenheimer gets at least a few sessions then.

Is sharing PLFs not a thing in America? Here currently there's the likes of MI7, Elemental, TF5 and No Hard Feelings sharing the big screens, although only MI7 is getting them in the evenings. MI7, Indy5, Insidious and No Hard Feelings sharing Gold Class screens. Is it really so hard to believe that Paramount thought they might be able to keep some of the screens if; they thought they had a good movie on their hands, MI6 being so well liked, TGM just made bank?
