Details surrounding the project remain vague, but it is said to feature a Korean female lead and a host of English-language supporting actors whose scenes will be set in New York. Lewis Pictures is producing “Okja,” which is expected to start production early next year. Swinton has already confirmed her involvement in the project while the other actors are in various stages of discussions, and though official offers have not gone out yet, they’re expected to shortly. Representatives for Gyllenhaal and Dano did not immediately respond to requests for comment. From a few days ago: As for gross in Korean Won, Up to the month of September 2015 stood at around 1.33T KRW. That's above 1.28T from 2014 and I believe it's the highest on record during the same period of time (as in first 9 months of the year).

Mojo has interstellar and gravity's OW in Aus as $3.6 million and $3.3 million resepectively. So despite being deflated by major sporting events, The martian's OW is expected to come in above both? Sounds pretty good to me

Gravity's result is even more impressive considering it came out against TDW which did decent and had Catching fire in the third week of it's run which was another big hit. it even held pretty well against Frozen in week 5. Interstellar had Mockingjay part.1 in the third week of it's run too which pretty much killed it what is the competition like for The Martian? SPECTRE and MJ2 are both November releases right?

haha yeah, JSA hits the theatres on the 15th and the BTTF series on the 21st. They've even made a special poster for the occasion

9th biggest opening of all time in Hong Kong. It could be a strong indicator for the other territories.

Any buzz for The Martian?

Up to the month of September, box office admissions for the calendar year stands at 168 million. That's bigger than the 165.7 million from 2013 and 2014 during the same time frame. Now all we need is for Martian to repeat last years interstellar performance and 2015 should come in above 2014

Major October 2015 releases 10/8 The Martian Pan 10/15 Joint Security Area (should make chas happy ) 10/22 Collective Invention The Phone 10/28 it's him 10/29 Southpaw The man from U.N.C.L.E, Lots of reruns this month too with BTTF series, JSA and A better tomorrow hitting the theatres.

Anyone else think that the timely announcement from NASA of the potential existence of water on Mars could boost awareness of this film internationally?

yeah but I'm guessing those kind of details will become public knowledge once the film is out.
