  2. I don't know how well it will do in japan but i know that in Japan Maleficent is very popular thanks to Kingdom of Hearts.
  3. Also BoxOffice.com predicted that Frozen will have just $180m. And now it has near $400m! Frozen was such a good movie and will also give a boost to Maleficent! Ok i don't say that maleficent will have 400m but 200+ for sure!
  4. The facebook page of Maleficent has more likes than Oz! And i don't agree withthe :Maleficent will have to compete in a typically crowded summer marketplace. Because it opens on May the best month of the year and has still 2 weeks untill How to train your dragon 2 opens! It will have an OW of $80m!
  5. I would say 85m opening weekend 250 final domestic

  9. La belle et la bete opened with a good opening in Czech republic! $56,456 from just 57 screens higher than Belle et sebastien and many french films Still the monday box office from italy where only 6.1k admissions.. Very sharp drop from last monday!
  10. Last Year 3rd Place:20 ans d'écart $2.3m This Year 3rd Place:The Monuments Men $3.2m Last Year 4th Place:Boule & Bill $2.2 This Year 4th Place:300 Rise of an Empire $2.6m I believe that this year it will be higher.
  11. Check this In your opinion, is the European blockbuster ready to compete with the Hollywood blockbuster? Christophe Gans:Beauty and the Beast’s budget is that of a major European comedy. My film cost €35 million, and Dany Boon’s new comedy cost €32 million. We are able to compete with the American blockbusters – all the more so because our films cost a lot less. This implies a meticulous preparation process with people who know what they’re doing, and which we have here in Europe. We must therefore be able to repatriate our franchises, our fairy-tales, Greek mythology or the tales of Jules Verne, for example, in order to make them into European blockbusters. As soon as I announced that I was making Beauty and the Beast, Hollywood announced it was making two other adaptations of the story at the same time: one by Guillermo Del Toro and starring Emma Watson, and the other one from the Disney studios. Today, my film is in the cinemas, whereas those two American projects still haven’t started up. Those versions cost too much money and take forever to see the light of day. In Hollywood, a film like that costs $200 million, which means that the studios need $600 million to recoup their investment. No American film does that well at the box office in its own country. Beauty and the Beast only needs three million admissions because it is not as expensive to finance. We’re already not that far off one million tickets sold in France in the first week of screening, and the film has been sold everywhere…
  12. It is not an American film And is doing great You probably have no idea of Non-english language films box office

  16. Fox’s The Grand Budapest Hotel opened in France this weekend. It earned $2.75M from 172 screens for the highest-per screen average in the market and a No. 3 slot behind big local comedy Supercondriaque and Liam Neeson-starrer Non-Stop. So what do you think?
  17. Maleficent is based on a french fairy tale so it will make at least $20m. 6.9m it will make after just 5 days
