Even more impressive is how The Dark Knight (a solo Batman movie) outsold No Way Home, with 3 different Spider-Men and ALL of the villains🤣
TDK = GOAT.
Simple, basic, entirely inarguable explanation.

Wish I was able to catch Spider-man 2002 during the release. Inject that early 2000s nostalgia straight into my veins! That was an unforgettable opening night and weekend for a movie buff.
Spoilernow just imagine if Hartnett hadn't been deemed "would be" too famous when they doing the casting of Peter!

As someone who has not idea what the original is about and never saw it, I thought this was good.

The plot sounds so B movie that I almost think it must be VERY good script, bc otherwise it isn't getting made

post 2019 WB trailers have never reached their past heights tbf
What? ELVIS had the best trailer of 2022, Barbie's entire campaign is iconic level, DUNE 2's final trailer was unreal, etc.
Re: Furiosa, yeah I have no idea how this will do but I think this doesn't have near the mass appeal that some will like claim it has.

Dune 3 is obviously happening. WB owns the post Covid correction franchise game for the net 3-4 years with sequels to Barbie, Beetle Juice, The Batman, Dune, Joker, Wonka, and Twisters.

Expecting this to be much more like ELVIS or Freddie Mercury than Whitney or (probably) Michael. Doesn't feel too soon

This is definitely one of those "the trailer is more watchable than the film" instances

I found DUNE 2 to be an utter chore to sit through, but it is indeed pure CINEMA and the theater owners deserve every penny!

SKULL ISLAND was randomly pretty sweet and well done. But no doubt seeing this series becoming BAYFORMERS esque is a bit sad given how vividly I can recall PJ's epic prestige version of KONG in late 2005.

Killers was an obnoxiously self indulgent film. Not surprised in the slightest that it was an awards flop.

Gunn appears to be making a classic, traditional SUPERMAN film, which frankly is exactly what they should be doing.

Oppenheimer one of the few films that would win every single year (though it would be weird if it won pre-1945). Past dominant winners like Dances With Wolves, Lawrence of Arabia and Gone With The Wind too problematic for modern sensibilities. Lord of the Rings and Silence of the Lambs and any musical too genre for certain eras. One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest swept up but might not be "important" enough to win all the time. Even Titanic and Forrest Gump might get picked apart for being too goofy these days, though they did give it to Coda and EEAAO. Godfather I and II, Amadeus, Casablanca, Oppenheimer off top of my head that check every box in every era. May have forgotten something but point is Oppenheimer up there with most dominant contenders ever.
Oppenheimer is the classic mass appeal prestige historical Oscar baity film, that it delivered entirely on its potential makes it an easy slam dunk for sure.

The Trump rant was real, though.
Trump will only fully go away when there's no attention and the entertainment value is gone

I can't believe it took so long for Nolan to get an Oscar. At one point I was convinced the committee hated him.
Dude should have taken some credit for the 10 best pic nominee rule.

She's certainly a name, and she does add some legitimacy to this project, simply put.
