Doing F2 international release calendar..... they tried to optimize it with the best windows for Christmas gift purchases.Their goal was not to repeat the mistakes of 2013, when the demand for related products was 10 times higher than availability. In this way F2 had lost something at the box office as the early (and more frontloaded) release hasn't permitted a strong Christmas-effect and is cutting hard its legs in January, but it has gained much, much more in the shops.

Great performance for a live action movie by a local Youtube star duo. It is the biggest opening in recent years for a childish movie out of holidays behind Frozen 2 in Nov 19. Those two are very well know among kids, mostly female preteen. Me contro Te (Me vs You) lead the all-italian podium.

Later this week Tolo Tolo will be the 5th movie ever to pass 45M. three on five are Zalone's. (two on five Cameron's)

Out of package (based on Scandinavian folklore and set in Medieval Europe) it's basically about strong family relationships that helping to solve strong problems, made in a simple way but with wonderful characters and catchy music. This, I think, can be well welcomed in all cultures and at all latitudes.

As usual when holidays endings, the boxoffice is frozen. The news is five local movies in top ten.
For 2019, Disney/Fox reach the 32,06% of market share (203,72M€). The 6 top Disney movies alone did about 125M€. I don't see any title able to replace those blockbuster for 2020. At least of big surprises, i don't think there will be a Disney's over 12M this year.
