You are right. As I've said before in forum, sunday numbers in BOM (and in other sources) are provided by Rentrak service. http://www.rentrak.com/section/movies_and_tv_everywhere/top_entertainment_rankings.html#1 Btw Toho 14.30 is 5250, biggest non holiday or opening thursday.

Unfortunately Screendaily don't have Japan data but total OS. Now, we need to see if the 790M$ of sunday is real or understimated like Japan's 164,4, at the moment updated at 166,9. I think BOM (like other sources), on sunday gives estimates from Rentrak BO essential service, and the correction with actuals is included in estimates of following week. Screendaily instead have only data provided by studios. For what concern toho x, even if wednesday is discount day, it should do average with other weekdays, because we haven't official daily grosses but only mon/fri and sat/sun total. So my 72,9 toho multiplier is an 5-day average, that already include the discount day.

Other interesting is the success of french movies (Belle & Sebastien had more admissions than Cap 2 and Noah) and the disaster of animated released in 2014.

Oricon announced on May 12 that Frozen soundtrack album has sold 466,000 units in two months and has become the top-selling animation film soundtrack album in history in Japan.

I don't know the true reasons, but numbers tell us that Lego grossed about 80% in usa, uk, australia and new zealand and 20% in over 50 other markets in which it played. For comparison frozen (another american movie), grossed 25% only in japan/china/south corea. (See post #125 for more details)

I hope finally someone (bom, boxoffice, the numbers...) update officials for past two weeks, so I can have the right data to do a good work. I think wednesday morning. By the way, with singalong disappeared like a ghost, toho x could be returned over 70 in midweek.

It seems that Wreck-It Ralph 2 will be done: http://www.hypable.com/2014/04/04/wreck-it-ralph-2-currently-in-the-works-disney/ even if everybody are hopeful for Frozen 2. Lego Movie had a medium production budget, but distribution and marketing costs could be much more, and internationally it did largely worse than expected (especially after the great domestic results) in non english language markets. We have been discussed about the reasons of this, but we are going to see that Lego OS gross could be less than Frozen japanese gross.

We waiting for a very weak year. I can't think Godzilla will do great numbers, Maleficent maybe, Xmen not for sure. I predict no movies passes 10M€ until november, but i hope i'm wrong
