If I were WBD I would do anything in my power to give BA a China release.IDK about how the demon sunlit would work in this market or audiences would outright reject it but everything else, The Rock and the relentless action sequences, are things they usually eat up. Right now I could see it pulling a 400M worldwide haul, but China could potentially push it above the 500M mark.

Oh yeah and as far as Shazam goes... I think the comparison here won't work. Shazam was sandwiched between two huge cbms that were playing for the same audience and did not have The Rock. Shazam was coming after a 1B Captain Marvel film, which had already wet the audience's appetite for comic book films and less than a month after its release it had to deal with the biggest comic book film in history (Endgame). BPWF will be huge of course bust still not as big as Endgame. Plus, ER right now are very shitty for Europe's huge markets. I

I tried to hold my "a certain return leak helped" for too long but at this point I will say it... Yes I think The Rock's face looking furiously at us in every single poster is the main reason why this has a good opening but it's hard to not think that pre-sales were sort of anemic a week before release, to the point that some were calling for a sub-50s ow. And even it's previews number was not indicating a high 60s result. Let's face it, certain cameo has a fair share of dedicated fans. The actor has grew his fandom enormously since his last appearance as his character and then there is this part of the audience that wants to see the character thrive. And yes I know that not saying who the cameo is is stupid since everyone knows it by now. Hell I think the producers and The Rock leaked this intentionally. They were doing fan screening with no NDA.

Yeah because the rest of The Rock's filmography had Martin Scorsese in tears for the cinematic achievements that they were.

Theatres in Greece are not even packed on Dinner time. Basically we have only one chain that is busy and that only has most of each business during Wednesdays/Fridays/Saturdays noon-night. I actually saw a purple of showtimes and this has had like 4 almost sold out showings, which is decent and actually much better than DC’s latest offerings.

If I had to put a tag on it I would say that this is the superhero equivalent of John Wick and I freaking love John Wick. While I don’t hold it at the same regard as JW, it was a couple of very enjoyable hours. The Rock’s passion shows through the screen and I know the standard is low but this os his best performance. Brosnan is THE scene stealer. Some gripes aside, it is worth of a big screen viewing. Yes, I had goosebumps during THAT scene because I have been waiting for it for almost 5 years.

Seems like Aquaman to me. Weak script, huge action set pieces. A movie tailor made for China. And let's face it... critics and RT are not that relevant anymore. Sure it's always nice when the movie is getting something like 80+ % but it is not what it used to be (or mean).

The GA i think hardly cares for Superman's history with BA and I think Social Media reactions are mostly for the fans and people running around om forums such as this. They are of course interesting because we get a first idea of what word of mouth is gonna be but other than that, as someone said above, a 10-sec cameo is not gonna drive sales. Doesn't mean though that audiences don't care for HC as superman. He has his fans that make it wise enough to use his version than having another reboot .

I think the notion of a name alone getting butts to theater seats is very old and not true anymore. Maybe if you are Tom Cruise. What big success did Jackman had in recent years? Or any other actor that leads a cbm right now really. It's just that getting a popular actor helps the visibility of the film but other than that is the film itself that will convince the audiences. Said actornis very popular and liked right now. When it happens it's just gonna be "oh how cool that this actor that i like plays this huge character. Better than the other case." Still the audiences will need a good movie if said character to make a BO success. And as it is casual audiences are not even aware of the rumors so if they are not going to see the movie they won't even know he is there.

I don’t think Henry’s inclusion will drive future sales. Surely most of the fans that willed the SnyderCut into existence will show up now (not the toxic part of the fandom that wants Zack in everything) as this is the a good sign that they are not done with the Snyderverse. But all in all the news just helped the film’s awareness. Henry will be in it for just a scene so the film will need to be good in its own merit for it to succeed.

I love this show so much. I am so impressed and relieved that they are able to tell the story before the Targaryen war breaks out in such an interesting way. They have set up everything exceptionally and it only gets better from here. And I have to make a special comment on the performances. Everyone was top notch with Paddy O Brian absolutely stealing the conflict scene. And, imo, Olivia Cooke can absolutely get the Emmy nomination next year.

I mean technically even Geralt will be probably sidelined at some point as Ciri becomes the central character. Of course Cahill is hard carrying this show and he is by far the most recognisable star so that’s not gonna happen.

I mean anyone was the right to dram they can make it like Lady Gaga. It becomes irritating when they keep coming back.

Best episode so far. You could feel the stakes, the characters are all well rounded and you can actually understand their motivations and most of all noone is completely right or completely wrong. The wedding scene was of course the highlight. I was completely enthralled by it. And you can actually say each time the dance of dragons was set up. All the little nobs to it. I love this show so much.

Sandler. Cage. And now Fraser. Guess Eddie Murphy is up next.

I think only Deadline talked about a POSSIBLE Cavill appearance on comic con. The scoopers were actually denying it.

I think somewhere along the way things got misunderstood. WBD want to make the DC films feel like cinematic events and not straight to screaming films. If they can get that with a limited budget then all the better. Joker was just that. A 55M film that felt and looked like an event film. Basically what they say, i think, is quality over quantity. So Joker 2 is of course a film that would immediately get the green light.
