Pike is truly incredible in this. Loved Affleck too. I had no problem with the ending. The direction from Fincher was impeccable. Lots of gasps from the audience. Really one of the best movies of the year.

Fantastic for GOTG. Great to see this movie break out in such a big way.

Simply amazing to see two releases in August do this well. Wish Fox had released The Maze Runner this month. -
Guardians of The Galaxy (2014)

The Star Wars saga was fairly enjoyable but I was never really a passionate fan. GOTG just hit a nerve with me. Loved it totally. The characters, the visuals, the dialogue, music etc. Everything just clicked with me. Sci-Fi wise I am a huge fan of films like Blade Runner,2001, the first Matrix and the first two Alien movies too and have not been a passionate fan of Marvel movies in the past though I have found them to be enjoyable. -

Same. Just really want it to hold as well as possible. -
Reviews from Telegraph,ScreenDaily and Independent are all raves and say it is far funnier than the first one. Lots of sold out showings near me too.

Really pleased to see GOTG open so well. Hope is continues to hold on well. -
Very much doubt most families care that the movie is from Marvel. They seem to be enjoying it immensely all the same. I could not care if it was DC,Marvel or Pixar etc. I loved it and will be seeing it again. Great marketing brought most of the audience out and hopefully great word of mouth will continue to bring crowds out to see it.

Guardians of The Galaxy (2014)

I absolutely adored this film. Everything about it just clicked with me. So much humour, action, visuals, great characters and perfect music. Chris Pratt was exceptional and immensely likeable and Rocket Raccoon and Groot steal nearly every scene they are in. First ten minutes are almost as affecting as Up and everything pays off handsomely in the wonderful climax. Really felt like this movie deserves to be held in same regard as films like Back To The Future,Raiders Of The Lost Ark,Jaws and Jurassic Park as far as pure unadulterated classic blockbusters go that people can watch again and again. I even believe it might be comparable to Star Wars for a lot of young people. First film in a while that I actually want to go and see again and again. -
Having seen the film and loved it I can also state it is nothing like any previous superhero or comic book movie I have seen. It was also the funniest film of the year. Cinema I went to was packed and the audience even clapped at the end which they rarely do in a British cinema. Will be seeing it again a few more times.

Really think they should have moved EOT to the vacant Jupiter Ascending date. Too late now though.
-
If only WB had put the same effort into marketing EOT as they did with Godzilla.
-
Really poor. First time Director and it shows. So many meandering scenes and poorly rendered cgi. Jolie was the one decent thing about the whole shoddy experience.
-
Great monsters but the lack of decent human drama and the total blankness of the leading man stops this from becoming a classic movie that will stand the test of time. Delighted it has opened so well though as it may mean more big budget monster movies get the green light.
