  1. Again, two days of headlines. And a minor difference in numbers won’t make people magically think the movie is an epic failure or whatever
  2. It's a classic case of getting two big headlines. You have the first headline where the movie opened to a really strong number, with the press adulating your movie and keeping you in the conversation. Then when the actuals go even higher, you get even more headlines, people going crazy, and you can go to the press and show how it did "better than expected" and that it's a real, true winner. A very effective marketing strategy

  6. His mom has English, German, and Scottish roots, and his dad is Black. Vin never met his biological dad, but reportedly he was told his parents could have been arrested due to miscegenation laws in certain states.
  7. There's more to the story. Back in 2016, somebody discovered this review for The Legend of Tarzan from a wine mom and it is...incredible. https://www.emilywrites.co.nz/i-saw-tarzan-and-this-is-my-review-after-some-wines/
  8. That is correct. https://www.motionpictures.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/MPA-THEME-2019.pdf Hispanics/Latinos make up 18% of the US population, yet represent 21% of moviegoers and 25% of all tickets sold. Crazy to think that as Hollywood emphasizes diverse castings in their projects that there's not much in terms of Latino-led blockbusters. You have Coco, Encanto, In the Heights, the Dora movie, some Eugenio Derbez titles, the upcoming Blue Beetle...and I think that's it. Obviously the diaspora of representation is very complex, as each nation has their own cultures and values, but it's still weird.
  9. Thor: Ragnarok contains the most baddies. Like it's impossible for me to follow or pay attention to the plot, when Hemsy/Hiddleston/Blanchett/Thompson/Ruffalo/Goldblum are looking the sexiest they've ever been. I just drool on impact. Taika makes his Thor movies for the Bis and I love him for it!
  10. Somebody finding a character attractive is a spoiler? Guess I need to ban myself from all the Timothee threads
