  1. Bit of a shame that Abominable looks to be a nonstarter (feels like it'll open under Smallfoot at this point). We could have had 7 consecutive weeks of a movie opening to over 30M (It2, Hustlers and Downton already did it, Joker could triple 30M, Gemini Man is tracking to about 28-30M, which could go higher if reviews/later marketing are strong, Maleficent/Zombieland both have decent shots at reaching 30M+). Ah well

  4. To be fair, the article mentions that the writer was unsure if the pre-preview sneaks were included in there or not. Not sure why they haven't updated it yet, now that we have the information, but whatever.

  6. Last thing STX’s Hustlers and New Line’s It Chapter Two will fight over fourth with around $16M a piece. That’s a -52% second hold for the Jennifer Lopez stripper pic and a third weekend decline of -60% for the Andy Muschietti-directed Stephen King sequel.

  8. Abominable does drop next week. Uni already traumatized kids seeing Lion King, might as well do it with a movie they own? 🤔

  11. Can't really find a good comp here for DA, but even with fan frontloading, it's still old-skewing enough that it should still scrape by 20M, right?
  12. Following First Man, that would translate to 21.8M. That would not be a great number considering the budget and all, but it could at least save some face having a "2" in front instead of a "1". Of course, the big downside is WOM seems super toxic (already rotten on RT's Aud. score), so who knows if it actually will hit 20M?
  13. Was there really any tracking for 30M+? Deadline even two days ago was saying about 23-25M, which this movie won't meet, but it's still much closer to that than 30M.
  14. If it follows Angel Has Fallen, that would translate to about 18.5M. Haven't found a budget, but that seems pretty decent either way.
