  1. Not Chalamet, but I'd be okay with Harry. But if this goes to Noah Centipede or whatever his name is....
  2. I'll accept whatever garbage this movie offers to me if that means Idris gets to play a character who never wears a shirt for the whole movie
  3. Better yet, get Halle Berry to play Ariel's mom (she appeared in the straight-to-video prequel Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning, so might as well take something from there)
  4. Actually looking further, Basterds had 70M and Django had 100M. Guess this is just the norm for Tarantula over here
  5. I just checked Wikipedia (I know), and it states a 90M budget. I guess Sony really wanted to have Tarantino for their studio, and decided to give him carte blanche when it comes to money (Tarantino, Leo, Pitt and Robbie also probably demanded some pretty hefty paychecks)
  6. But even then, when you look at the data, stuff that opened that week still had okay drops. Sicario stayed flat, and Uncle Drew only dropped 13%. Tarzan and BFG did only 32% and 27% respectively, which is fantastic for a Monday. Lone Ranger increased for goodness sake. What I was trying to show is that movies don't drop hard, and that definitely applies to openers.

The only one I can say dropped hard was DM2, but that was because yesterday was OD, and take out its previews, it was only a drop of about 19%. Yeah I know it was six years ago, but when even recent results see stuff on the 4th holding okay, I don't think your theory holds much water. And no, I'm not saying FFH is gonna stay flat or anything, but it'll probably only drop about 15% or something from the 3rd to the 4th than "drop hard" like you're suggesting.
  8. Wait, we could have gotten a Mad Men Lounge with this theme park?
  9. That seems pretty decent. Hopefully buzz improves in the coming weeks.
  10. As for Hobbs and Shaw, it sold about 4 tickets today, so...yeah. I'm probably not gonna do any public reporting save for the occasional update if I think it's appropriate. I'll still record each day though. Nothing wrong with trying to have this stuff as a back-up. And just so people know, this is the list of definite movies I'll track each day for the rest of the year: It Chapter 2 Joker Frozen 2 Jumanji: The Next Level Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker I am looking to potentially add a few more in there, like Maleficent or Doctor Sleep, but that will depend on both tracking (my cutoff is about 40M) and whether I have extra time on my hands.
  11. The Lion King Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-16 Days and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 100 1,182 18,477 6.40% Total Seats Sold Today: 104 As stated before, I can't do comps yet. But I'd say that selling 100 tickets in a day is pretty dang good. Of course, this was a big promo day for Loin King, what with the cast photos and featurette, so it'll be interesting to see if it will crash down to Earth, stay consistent, or perhaps do something crazier in the next few days.
  12. Also Gerard as Triton is an odd casting choice that I'm actually kind of behind? He's starting to grow a bit of a dad bod too, so it'd be perfect.
  13. I don't really get the whole dolls argument. If Zendaya gets cast, they'll just make Zendaya Ariel dolls. They already did this stuff for Naomi Scott and Emma Watson (although the Watson doll grew to be kind of infamous for looking...not good), and I'm pretty sure dolls based on the animated designs are still being sold in stores. And if Zendaya is Ariel, I feel confident in saying kids aren't gonna care or be confused by the different appearance (don't start the whole "the red hair is iconic" argument). I feel like we underestimate kids and their intelligence, and I think they can understand Zendaya Ariel and cartoon Ariel are two different interpretations, and will just be happy seeing a character and movie they love in live-action (and for black girls, they get to see a princess that looks like them).
  14. I just hope the only crocs you had to deal with were the shoes.
  15. I'm actually surprised at that Toy Story jump. I didn't expect it to drop or anything, but I expected something more muted in like the teens or low 20s due to FFH kicking it out of the big auditoriums. A mid-30s jump from Monday is pretty solid, albeit not as amazeballs as last week.
