Simple, we've seen the Heroes together before. It isn't a new commodity. Think of how hard it will be for a sequel to hit $500 domestic... That's a lot of money, even if the film is great.
It just isn't a commodity anymore, like Avatar's 3D. A 15% drop for Avengers 2 and something like 18% for Avatar 2 domestic.
DH2's midnight record is safe. That was just as much lightening in a bottle as Avatar's initial run.
To misquote Descartes, "There ain't shit I know for sure"
But I know there's no JC film that will break the midnight record.
Being serious for a moment... Logically shouldn't everyone be expecting a sizable drop for Avatar 2?
I think Avengers 2 and Avatar 2 will have highly comparable drops.
Saw "Tusk" yesterday... The fact that he made the movie is amazing. Listening to the smodcast then watching the film was an intimate experience... Can't wait for the rest of the trilogy.
I wish this could match its budget domestically by some miracle.
For X-Men is it a good number? I think so. I also think this movie can't be fully enjoyed or understood without seeing the others so I can't fathom it having the appeal of other great comic films. These are really niche.
I don't know of a better place for a first post.
I miss it bad. I hope Fantastic Beasts brings just half of the excitement of the older films. DH2's opening day was so much fun to track. Unbelievable that it will hold until atleast Avengers 2.
