I really hope everyone sees this.  Truly incredible.

    Yes it was incredible.

For a war movie that is just as bloodied as Saving Private Ryan and American Sniper. I was actually feeling upbeat at the end of the movie and not as shell shock as in SPR or as sad as in AS. I don't know if you all feel the same.

It's the same with Leo and Hanks although both have their fair share of flops plus Hanks has been in two franchises.

I do wonder if certain actors aren't paired with one another simply because they're too expensive. You'd never see a Leo/Denzel film or a Cruise/Jolie film because the salaries would be $40m

Pre meltdown, I would have counted Mel Gibson in this group. He was one of those actors, that I would have pay to see no matter what the critics said about their movies.

So there's a chance SS have a better multiple than Civil War? Who would've thought SS would end up being more well-liked than that movie? Wow

How could it be more well like than Civil War when CW made over 400 million and SS has barely made 300 mil. Even if SS made 330 mil at the end of its run, that's still 70 mil behind. That's average out to about 3.5 million ticket (if it cost $20 a ticket).

I don't see the math behind that.

Kind of ironic, considering no one in American goes to see Chinese films anyway...it's not like most Americans open themselves up to diverse cultures much...true irony, considering how we were founded.  Even Jackie Chan and Jet Li have basically abandoned making Hollywood movies.

Bruce Lee was the exception though. Too bad, we haven't had an Asian actor that has the magnetism of Bruce Lee and understand the American audience.

Even then, he has to go to Hong Kong before he can make his mark in the US.

Jackie Chan & Jet Li made great Hong Kong movies but because of their limited English, it hindered their American movies.

love Brewster's Millions (and Hero), I have even been using the vote for None of the Above slogan and his "political" vignettes for this year's election ;)

I love Brewster's Millions too. It's one of those movies that I watch it every time it's on TV. Also, I think Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder are very funny together. Any of their movies are very funny. Especially, "Stir Crazy" and "See No Evil, Hear No Evil".

All around a stronger Tuesday than I had expected. I agree with Grim that the continued spread of "discount tuesday" particularly over the last 12 months or so has really changed the way some things behave.

You got that right. I got 4 kids and when they all want to go a certain movies. I wail until Tuesday to take them. We have a Regal Cinema near us. On Tuesday, tickets are 5 dollars, free popcorns, sodas are $2 for any sizes, hot dogs are $1. So if I can spend less than $50 for a family of 6 with popcorns and sodas, that's a great deal. Otherwise, I would not take the whole family out without discount Tuesday.

A breath of fresh air? How so?

What memorable lines did she have in that movie?

I was so disappointed with what they did to the character of Superman. Having him climbing into the bathtub with Lois Lane. And then having Batman almost kill Sup. That’s not the Superman that I have grown up with. May be I am bias, I am more of a Sup fan than Batman. And among other reasons, I was disappointed with BvS so when I saw how she appeared and kicking butts, I liked her after that.

When they cast Gal Gardot , I was pretty much like you, I didn’t think this was the right casting. She was never a stand out in F&F and she is no Lynda Carter (too skinny and not as well developed as Lynda Carter  J ).  But after, I watched her in BvS, her character grew on me.

Not much as far as memorable lines out of her but may be because they made her into this great kick butt character.

Just my opinion, will see how she does when the movie come out.

(Here is a rant I posted elsewhere, it probably belongs here though)

You know why the MCU is winning?

Because they'd never hire anyone like Gal Gadot for a pivotal, vital role, not in a million years.

    And you all know it.

Eight years into their film franchise, over a dozen moves made and not one stupid casting like this one, a casting that reeks of shenanigans.

Hell, even Robbie grabbing WB by the balls shows a weakness in their decision making process, but the casting of Gadot is the big one that shows that things aren't in order in their front office.

Want a good snap shot at the difference between the MCU and the DCEU? Look at the difference in quality, across the board, between Marvel's Doctor Strange and DC's Wonder Woman. OMG.

One is a perfect marriage a director and writing duo to source material.

The other looks like the creatives you'd expect to find directing an indie short for youtube on a Wal-Mart grocery run budget.

One has a cast of pure all stars. Oscar nominated actors at the top of their game. All around. Male and female. Tremendous. Reading the casting list alone makes you shudder.

The other reads like a Lifetime movie where you think someone has switched around- by some honest mistake- the name of the leading actress and a female extra...

Wonder Woman can't get here fast enough.  I wonder what the excuses are going to be for Gal when Wonder Woman finally gets here. I'm sure the heroes will think of something.

I am a Marvel fan through and through but I have to disagree with you on this. Gal Gardot was a breath of fresh air in BvS. I actually came out of the theater looking forward to seeing Wonder Woman.

As far as BvS, all I can say is "Martha".

  10. You guys can laugh all you want but this failure by the Expendables is all about the leak.  It might have dropped domestically but not at the rate that it has.  This was going to be a 250-300 million dollar grosser WW.

You know I think, it's a conspiracy theory in me. I think there is a group of people out there that do not like Mel Gibson to succeed in any movie so they did this to sabotage Mel. I remember when they were making Hangover 3 or 2, I think. Someone mentioned Mel and I remembered some people refused to work with him. So who knows, what other movies that you can think of, that leak a good digital copy like this? Just a thought.
