  1. The official Middle Earth map for the new Amazon series. It extends east more than the previous official maps. People theorize the eastern most mountains are where the Elves awakened.
  2. The official account for the series just posted this map. It extends way more in the east than the official Middle Earth maps have in the past. People theorize that the forests and mountains from the far east are where the Elves are said to have awakened. So second to third age events. Maybe we will get the last aliance or smth like that.
  3. Rewatching Fellowship of the Ring and it might be just an appearance but one thing that always makes me love it is how PJ took his time to build up Middle Earth. That sequence in the beginning with Bilbo describing the Shire is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen on screen. Something you never see nowadays, when they try to keep the movies as short as possible at the expense of the story. I really hope they take their time with that Amazon series, especially since they will make up a lot of the plot. With Middle-Earth the world itself is a huge character. And hope they film on location. Makes a huge difference.
  4. This is WB we are talling about. Doubting them on a horror movie is not wise. That being said, this is not approaching IT levels. That one had out of this world hype. Still, I could see 150m DOM if it is great movie. And speaking of WB horror, this year is packed for them. This, The Conjuring and La Llorona. I can see all of them over 100m dom.
  5. Just watched Mortal Engines. I was entertained and then I checked the budget. How in the world did this cost only 100m? It looked more expensive than anything Marvel or DC put out.
  6. Trailer views are important indeed. But this is the first live action pokemon movie, something everyone anticipated to look like a mess. IW and TLK well received have big screen predecesors. Plus, TLK is barely above Pokemon and the views for the first Endgeame trailer will not come even close to the 214m plus views of the first IW trailer, even if that one had more time to build views. Either way, it will be fun to track these runs.
  7. The way people argue about Avengers, SW and TLK when Pikachu will beat them all... (WW at least).😂
  8. I actually take Interstellar over Inception but that might be because space opera is by far my fav subgenre.
  9. I just hope it is Sci Fi. Inception and Interstellar are some of the best sci fi movies ever made. That is where Nolan truly shines.
  10. To be fair, this is how the worldwide list looks like: HP8 - 1.341 B TDKR - 1.084 B Aquaman - 1.077 B The Hobbit 1 - 1.021 B TDK - 1.004 B HP1 - 975 M HP7 - 960 M The Hobbit 2 - 958 M The Hobbit 3 - 956 M HP5 - 940 M HP6 - 934 M HP4 - 897 M HP2 - 879 M BvS - 673 M Inception - 828 M WW - 821 M FB1 - 814 M HP3 - 796 M Suicide Squad - 746M Matrix- 742 M Their WW top 10 is made of: 4 Wizarding World movies, 3 Hobbit movies, 3 DC movies. Their WW top 20 is made of: 9 Wizarding World movies, 6 DC movies, 3 Hobbit movies, Inception and Matrix. DC is big but aside from Aquaman (which was lightning in a bottle) none of the post-Nolan DCEU movies have truly been huge OS. And as it is obvious by this list (and the general WW list), that if you want to push for the big leagues you need to do phenomenal OS (unless you are SW). Hollywood is a worldwide business. DOM is just a country (or two, Canada being included).
  11. I still think Bale wins this one but if he doesn't then Malek doesn't deserve it over Cooper. Cooper actually sang those songs.
  12. Hmmm, I think Vice will win BP. Gaga for Best Actress. And Bale for Best Actor.
  13. Their Fall Sci Fi tentpoles almost always do gangbusters. I hope this does too because the book really deserves it. I still can't get over Chalamet for Paul though. Ugh.
  14. Even without Batman I think WW3 and BoP can win agains Black Widow and Eternals. I would argue both WW and Harley are more popular than Black Widow.
  15. LOL at people predicting only 300m for Pikakchu.
  16. It seems the movie sticks to the darker tone of the book which is a good thing imo. I liked Disney's version quite a bit, but that was clearly not Kipling's version (unfortunately).
  17. According to BO.com it got 48k tweets today. Pikachu got 34k today and that is it's 4th day of Twitter tracking (400k+, 281k, 95k). Of course the IPs are not comparable, but 48k tweets is nothing to write home about.
  18. I know social media hype is not usually huge for family fare but even so this trailer barely registered. Hopefully it is succesful because it looks very good. Someone here said Christopher Robin numbers and I agree.
