  1. Ive not been posting on here for a few years but this is such a fab way to cap off this year's box office. a year ago i wasn't sure big box office numbers would ever return. Avatar deserves its glory. happy new year everyone
  2. really enjoyed it. not as jaw dropping as the first one. but, really liked it. does drag a bit at times tho.
  3. REALLY enjoyed this on halloween night. when the credits appeared, I sighed a massive gasp of air that I could finally breathe. I found this super tense.
  4. So refreshing to actually genuinely enjoy a MCU film. This is the first Phase 4 film that I can put my hand on my heart and say I liked and had a good time with.
  5. What a great weekend for Thor. I'm so happy that we are still getting huge box office numbers. This time last year I really thought cinemas might be dead forever.
  6. I rewatched Thor Ragnarok yesterday cause I thought it was crap when I saw it in the cinema. Was actually very enjoyable, a lot more fun than Doctor Snooze in the Multiverse of Boredom.
  7. I don't recall the first film getting much flak for being nearly 3 hours long. It's an epic, I dont think many people have an issue with an epic film being 3 hours.
  8. OH MAN I WATCHED HOUSE OF GUCCI, JARED LETO IS AMAZING
  9. I enjoyed it. Not sure what the critics are seeing that's so bad. Yes it is "more of the same" but the action sequences are well done, it's tense when required, scary when required, and emotional at the right moments, even maybe possibly brought a tear to my eye at one point. No there is no depth to it but as a B-movie it is fine. C
  10. Put $0 into the rest of the movie and let it die on HBO Max would seem the most logical solution. This is completely out of control. You can't just "reshoot his scenes" when the entire film revolves around him.
  11. I'm booking my tickets for the 7:30pm show of JW tomorrow... And the screen is literally empty, no other seats sold yet. 😕
  12. Jungle Book 2 is the first film I remember seeing in a cinema. I would have been 6 at the time.
  13. I mean... if you take the text off the poster, you can say that about any film that doesn't use the generic "faces" poster design. Is this a movie poster or an ad for a jacket brand?
  14. you definitely don't ever need to rewatch jurassic park 3. like EVER.
  15. Why would you (or anyone else) expect this to open higher than Fallen Kingdom? Given that Fallen Kingdom's opening was coming off the well-received first film, while this is opening off the back of a film that was received very negatively by the pulic.
  16. you dont know he has fumbled it, just because it's getting mixed reviews from critics. critics=/=audience. it's far too early to say this has turned out badly. yeah the original film is absolutely wonderful, i watched it in the cinema last year and it's near enough perfect. comparing everything to the original is a futile exercise.
  17. yes, I dare say that a park would have solved a number of the issues with lost world and it would have made the audience a lot more receptive to it.
  18. not sure about everywhere but my local IMAX stopped being restricted to "1 movie at a time" quite a while ago. quite common here for the imax to show different films at different times (e.g. could have jurassic world at 10am, topgun at 1pm, Jurassic at 4pm, top gun at 7pm, etc)
  19. why does someone else need to "carry on the legacy"? there really isn't much you can do with dinosaurs in a live action environment that hasn't already been done by the series. unless you do a proper "jump the mosasaurus" and have talking dinosaurs or something. dinosaurs are the attraction for the audience but since they can never be characters, they are effectively part of the film's backdrop, the same as a disaster film. there are no successful disaster films that have justified a successful francise. zero. the audience come to see a disaster film where the disaster is [asteroid] [volcano] [flood] [plague] [dinosaurs]. it's not like a monster movie where the monster (godzilla / king kong) can be a character that changes and has a story. after you've done it once, it just doesn't really justify itself a second, third, sixth time.
  20. it's a shame jurassic world will be taking top gun's IMAX screens away from it
  21. Just watched the film. this is how every big action film should be. I'm glad it's getting this success, hope it inspires more tentpole films to move away from CG fests.
