Superb opening!!

I really wish I was like 5 years older so I could have had that experience of lord of the rings when they came out. The Goat... THE GOAT! Incidentally I don't think the LOTR comparisons I heard about pre-release did this film any favours. I heard multiple people say this has Return of the King quality battles, and I was waiting and waiting and it never came.

Did you guys who watched Dune 2 get a Dune parody trailer for Kung Fu Panda?

Dune 1 was also released 7 months closer to the oscars.

What kind of dumbass logic is this? Lord of the Rings was one of the most successful film releases of all time. Smashed dozens/hundreds of records. No offence but what a stupid comparison. Dune 2 looks like it will gross over $600M. It has literally doubled the opening day for Dune 1. If Dune 2 hadn't improved over Dune 1 then you might be right but Messiah is 100% happening after Dune 2 has become such a big hit. After the implosion of both of WB's tentpole franchises (DC, Potter), there is literally no chance of them cancelling this franchise after it has become successful.

I just looked up the actor that looks a bit like Javier Bardem who plays Stilgar as I thought he gave a great performance in Part Two and wanted to see where this unknown actor had come from...

well I am disappointed. in myself. I went to a 11pm imax showing and after an hour I could barely keep my eyes open, had to keep pinching myself to stay awake for the rest of the film. didn't fall asleep (unlike the person next to me who was snoring lol) but mentally checked out of the film half way through. guess I'll be going to another showing next week at a more sensible time. that's what i get for not booking tickets far enough in advance and having to choose one at an awkward time.

1 hour to go until my showing. Dune 2 is on 5 screens out of 9 and all showings after 6pm were over 80% sold out, both imax showings sold out.

Just watched the first one and wow. It was epic. What an awesome imax experience. Properly hyped for part 2 tomorrow!!!!

Didn't like the first Dune but rewatching it tonight in imax, then part two tomorrow in imax. Fingers crossed it goes better as a two parter.

I saw this last night and was completely knocked out. Best film of 2023.

I just watched Zone of Interest and holy crap. I don’t recall the last time I had a sensory experience in the cinema like that. I think I have a new number 1 for the year.

This was disappointing! The film opens with a scene of two characters talking, and one of them isn’t moving their mouth while the ADR dialogue plays. I thought, wow am I about to witness an iconic disaster disasterpiece? Alas no… simply another generic superhero copy paste film, just with worse CGI, worse dialogue. Honestly most of the film is fine. It’s a 2/5.

looks utterly terrible, but then so did the GVK trailer and the film turned out to be just about tolerable. Kind of a shame given I thought Monarch was really good. I've recently watched all the monsterverse films in order and monarch feels like a continuation of G2014 and Skull Island, whereas these two crossover films feel like a toy advert that's made by people who haven't watched the first two films.

decent casting but I really don't see why some people think this will be the comeback or big success they want. The poor box office of the 3 existing F4 movies surely demonstrates there is no big fandom for these characters.

You're missing the point, I'm saying part 1 and part 2 were made as completely separate films. Your claim that they shot some of part 2 during the production of part 1 is just untrue. This film's budget is not covered by part 1. I was gonna see Dune this weekend but I noticed Cineworld is showing Dune on the 29th of Feb, so can do a double bill over two days.

Errrrrr this was great lol. Really enjoyed it. Matthew Vaughn back on form after some quite lackluster movies. His best film since Kick Ass. I had misunderstood what the film was about. I straight up thought it was just a spy movie with Henry Cavill and Dua Lipa. So a lot of the movie was quite the surprise lol. Was cool seeing big name star after big name star pop up throughout the film. This film was a really pleasant surprise. Also I want to nominate this film for Best Original Song already. Banger. Really don't understand how this cost over $200M though. The CGI is pretty weak. The big name actors have quite minor roles.

You are completely wrong, The two films were literally filmed 3 years apart from each other.
