  1. I know right say the slightest thing that could somehow be tangentially related to Avatar 2 and he'll make 5 posts saying why you're wrong, even when you haven't said anything at all. But yeah. Despite the huge box office run, Avatar hasn't become the pop culture icon that other gigantic BO runs have, and with a decade long gap between the first and the sequel, audiences won't care anywhere near as much as they could have if this was released straight after the first film. But it'll make money from China, so eh.
  2. I really love this thread, it's just kal talking to himself and hyping himself up.

  4. I consider Raiders dumb, silly fun, but that's why I like it so much. It's over the top and ridiculous and none of it makes any actual sense, but it's an absolute blast and it's meticulously well-made.
  5. Much better than most blockbusters which just get AAAAAAA on the forum. Pretty much my feelings too. The film has a whole bunch of stuff that doesn't work, but at the end of the day, I had a fun time and I don't think the film's problems hold it down too much.

  7. Yeah, the tube marketing in London looks insane. The whole campaign by Universal in the UK is terrific. I don't want to even imagine how much it costs them, but it's looking like it will pay off.
  8. To know whether it'll be good or not, two words are needed: Guy Ritchie You either like Guy Ritchie movies or you're a normal human being. So you should already know how good this is going to be.
  9. It's a nice little cinema. Popcorn is £1 which is cool.
  10. Far From the Madding Crowd June 6th, 7:15pm Royston Picture Palace Attendance: sold out / 100% Gender: 60/40 female/male Age: majority 50+ Trailers: Clouds of Sils Maria Jurassic World A Royal Night Out Mr. Holmes
  11. Equally, I think most people who see the movie will be aware of the original story.
  12. Due to the growing age of the original actors, Sony executives have decided to replace the original duo's characters with their children - Jaden Smith and Jennifer Lawrence.
  13. Secret Cinema has a real nerve to charge £75 per ticket; they just know people will pay it to see Star Wars on the big screen. It really sucks for those of us who don't have spare £50 notes spilling from our pockets.
  14. As I expected. I think I predicted something like 385M for the global OW back in April. edit: yeah, it was 376M.
  15. I agree that your opinion is the only one that matters to you. I'm just saying that you can't use that to claim everyone else is being insincere. Example: I think Batman & Robin is a great film. I really do, for many reasons which I won't get into, but I like Batman & Robin. The vast majority of people seem to hate it. It's been on countless "worst film ever" lists and is frequently used by people on the Internet when citing a bad movie. Are these people hating on it just because it's cool? No, I don't think they are. I think they genuinely believe that Batman & Robin is a rubbish movie. The fact that I personally think it's good, doesn't mean that anyone who disagrees is just on a bandwagon, or that they're lying.
  16. In your opinion. Doesn't mean everyone else is just latching on to a bandwagon.
  17. people don't hate Bay because it's cool. people hate Bay because he's a shit director.
  18. I have no interest in this movie nor am I Chinese, but that's great news!
  19. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is much better than it's given credit for.
  20. I don't see how some people hate it. I can see why many think it's not very good, and I can see why some like it, but I don't get how anyone can either love or hate the film. It doesn't do enough to warrant either of those emotional responses. I personally find it mediocre - for an hour and twenty minutes, it's good sing-a-long fun with some amusing gags and enjoyable aesthetics. All the cast bar Johnny can sing, and a couple of performances are terrific. 20 minute version of Cinema Sins? Jesus, I'm not watching this. I thought these were 5-minute things.
