  1. I really wanted to like Groundhog Day, but it is just so painfully void of comedy.
  2. To the best of my knowledge, they were all performed in original pronunciation. Certainly it feels very authentic. It's a really magical experience - you walk on to the site of the Globe and as you do so, you have people seemingly from the 1600s promoting the play, trying to coerce you into the theatre in just the way they would have back in the day. It's hard to describe but just the atmosphere itself is incredible, it really feels like you have been transported to 400 years ago, even though you can see cars outside and people on their mobile phones. It's a remarkable experience that should be on everyone's bucket list. I try to go to the Globe once a year myself.
  3. You know your relationship is failing when you got to take your partner on a date in order to have sex
  4. Yup. The BSG question about any film in top 10 increasing, the Home top 10 question, and the 8/9/12 places are gonna be screwed up for a lot of people's answers. BOM really needs to hire a new guy. I'm sure they will but they seem like they're taking way too long
  5. But if someone feels that most of the best films they've seen happen to be smaller films rather than blockbusters, what's wrong with that?
  6. I've seen more Shakespeare plays at The Globe than I have film adaptations. I'm not sure if this is good or bad.
  7. I recently rewatched Groundhog Day, I hadn't seen it since I was a child. I laughed once. ONCE. I laughed at least 5 times in Edge of Tomorrow. Some of the moments like where Cruise rolls under a truck like an action star and just gets run over, are pure gold. Yeah, sorry, I got there first. I don't even slightly understand how anyone can think Groundhog Day and Ferris Bueller are arthouse films.
  8. The LEGO Movie is unquestionably a thoughtful, layered film, but as much as I enjoy Edge of Tomorrow, I didn't see it as much more of a well-made action flick.
  9. Yeah that's from the Halloween special. Much better than the Christmas special as far as I'm concerned.
  10. Those are minimums imo. Not quite "locks" but I am personally extremely confident that they will all reach those targets to varying extents. My actual predicts atm are more like: Mission: Impossible - 66M Ted 2 - 75M Ant-Man - 93M Minions - 105M JW - 135M FF - 71M Inside Out - 78M
  11. San Andreas could do much better than some are expecting, given its domestic nature and strong marketing. Other big openers - Mission Impossible (60+), Ted 2 (60+), Ant-Man (85+), Minions (90+), Jurassic World (100+), Fantastic Four (60+), Inside Out (70+). So it's not all doom and gloom
  12. I thought most Disney films skew higher female numbers than male numbers. But it's not going to be 75% or whatever PP2 had
  13. Ah, fuck. I checked before doing my week 4 that Madding Crowd wasn't expanding... grrrr.
  14. Thanks for informing us. I think you'd be surprised, actually. Bear in mind that when you google the name of a film, Rotten Tomatoes is the first thing to come up.
