  1. Damn. RIP. I know he struggled with addiction, as an addict I feel his pain and hope he was at some sort of peace before he died. Thank you for being the only redeeming feature of Friends
  2. I saw it in a pretty full IMAX screen this morning. Just wow. The show was breathtaking. Genuinely magical. Really gave the sensation of being there. Wish I had got lucky with tickets. Taylor is just one of the most amazing people on this planet. The staging, sets, lighting, choreography, costumes are absolutely insane, serious craftsmanship from the people who put this show together. I have never watched a concert like that before. I was blown away. Best cinema experience I've had in a while.
  3. I ended up being busy the weekend this released and this weekend I was gonna go but was super hungover. Found an imax showing next saturday... hyped now
  4. I dont want to watch this particular film as it does not appeal to me, therefore I must hate cinema? The fuck you talking about lol?
  5. I was out with friends last night and one of them was trying to convince me to see kotfm, he said it was absolutely incredible. But I just cant stomach 3+ hours for a western.
  6. Wow. Holy shit. 97M opening. for a concert movie. That is absolutely insane!
  7. pls dont mention those films in comparison to this gem 😭
  8. I literally wasn't aware that the movie existed until last week. I have not seen any marketing at all.
  9. Interesting! Thank you for sharing. Even though I am an atheist that actually makes me more intrigued to see it.
  10. Wow, I absolutely LOVED this. Can't remember the last time I was so enthralled by a sci fi movie. Dear Hollywood, please can you let Gareth Edwards direct all action movies going forward. The way he manages to convey the scale of things is jaw dropping. I loved this in Godzilla but there wasn't an emotional connection in that movie. Here it has the same amazing cinematic qualities but is also thought provoking, moving and emotional. Defo in the top 5 films I've seen this year. I think theres really something special about an original sci fi film when it can connect with you, that no other genre can do. I guess its to do with you being provoked to consider your own existence. Shame that Fox gave up on this and didnt bother marketing it.
  11. Ooh, I just went to look at showtimes for Creator this evening and seen that The Exorcist is on. I've never seen it. Does it live up to the hype of the greatest horror film of all time? Or is it dated now that its 50 years old?
  12. Yeah this feels very much like Mando S3 in that respect. The ending feeling very rushed. I remember when Mando S3e7 dropped, the D+ description said "The penultimate episode", and both me and my housemate yelled "WHAT??!!" at the TV. We assumed there must be like 4+ episodes left from where we were. The ending just came out of nowhere, after the series spent 6 episodes doing nothing. At least the content of the Ahsoka episodes is more interesting than Mando s3 but still, I definitely feel short-changed here. Like, what is going on with the pacing? I do generally trust Filoni but this feels really badly paced. They should have done more with this season. This entire 8 episode season is literally just the characters travelling to Thrawn planet. Thats it. Are we really gonna have to wait another 2 years for season 2 (or, a different show) to see Thrawn in action? It feels like episode 7 should have been half way through the season. I guess the pacing may feel better if they killed/stopped Thrawn next week but that seems very unlikely. (I think its a safe bet that Thrawn will escape to rebuild the Empire.) Also the pacing of this episode felt off as an individual episode. Seemed to end very abruptly.
  13. bruh..... fucking clowns. I mean by this logic, people would never see an artist live more than once ? Plenty of people will see an artist on multiple dates of the same tour.
  14. because I don't just give up on a franchise I'm heavily invested in just because they come out with a couple of dud films. I thought the sequel trilogy was pretty bad but I didn't give up on star wars, and thankfully now they have returned to making much better content.
  15. Because as I said, pretty much all the films since endgame have been weak. Black Widow, Eternals, Thor 4, Ant Man, Black Panther 2, Doctor Strange 2, have all been utterly uninteresting. I have been putting up with these films getting progressively worse and after Quantumania I decided I was finally done with the MCU. I love my Guardians so I watched GOTG3 and left thinking, "That was great, a great way to end the MCU for me." I feel like I can move on from MCU after GOTG ended.
  16. I really enjoyed the first captain marvel but I really don't care about this film. If Captain Marvel had a bigger role in Endgame maybe I'd be more invested, but I feel like we've had no reason in the past 5 years since the first film to keep up interest in her. I've watched every MCU film in cinemas and this may be the first one I skip. Since GOTG is finished I'm pretty much done with MCU. The tv shows suck and since Endgame all the films (bar Guardians) have sucked. Anecdotally, I know multiple other MCU fans who have given up at some point since Endgame. I dont think its controversial to say that a lot of people have stopped caring about the MCU, the box office seems to reflect this.
  17. Wow this global release is awesome. Really didn't expect it to be released before the tour. Makes sense though, if it had a staggered release there would be much less hype internationally on those countries' own release dates. Better to release it now when the US hype is driving the internet. Does anyone in the UK know if it's Odeon exclusive? Odeon is the only place I can see taking bookings, but I can't find any mention of exclusivity. Nearest Odeon to me is over an hour away and I only have a Cineworld card, but if its exclusive then guess I'll be going to an odeon.
  18. No redeeming qualities whatsoever. Also the visual effects are PS2 level. Every shot looks like it's against a Zoom background.
  19. I enjoyed this a lot more than Big Short as it was more accessible. It didn't focus on the economics which I don't understand. I still don't understand how investors can lose money on a stock increasing - this movie didn't explain it. However, the narrative still works because the main character is engaging, and you can still get a feel of what is happening.
  20. Thrawn. Thrawn. Thrawn. Thrawn. Thrawn. Thrawn. Thrawn. Thrawn. Thrawn. Thrawn.
  21. I watched the 5 episodes yesterday. Found the first couple a bit boring, it took a while to get going, but I'm enjoying it a lot now. The last episode was pure fan service, actually like someone's fanfiction. But I cant complain. It was pretty cool. Jacen listening to the waves of the ocean gave me serious goosebumps all over. Thats one of the best moments of any Star Wars I've ever seen. I found the de-aging jarring at first but once they went back to replay scenes, it was all good. Hayden Christensen still can't act though lol. One of the things I loved about Rebels, and probably the reason I rate Rebels above Clone Wars, is that it leans into the mystical and spiritual side of Star Wars, how the force goes through animals and plants and space and time and makes it mysterious and awe-inspiring. So getting some of that in live action is right up my street. I am a bit surprised by how closely it is tied to Rebels, and given most people watching it won't have seen the cartoons, I expect some of it doesn't really make much sense or isn't very engaging for those people. I am glad to get another good Star Wars show after the awful Mando season we had this year. Oh also, super glad to see David Tennant return for a longer role. He was great in clone wars.
