  1. The name 'Khan' is quite common in India/Pakistan, right? I have a colleague named Aamir Khan (working in the European HQ of the company).
  2. Disliking Boyhood is morally wrong in my eyes. Jokes aside, of course I'm not questioning your feelings, just strongly disagree with them. Boyhood is one of my absolute favorites of the last decade, it's like re-living my teenage years in 3 hours (I was born just a couple of years before the protagonist, so the situations and cultural references were very familiar). The 12 years of filming is not just a gimmick, it makes you relate to the character and gives more weight to the passing of time. If you gave the Tree of Life another chance, why not this one?
  3. Of course there will be equitable access. For those who are willing to pay for the vaccine.
  4. Okay, car accident was an extreme example. But most people who die diagnosed with the virus has already some pre-existing conditions. Here the government website has the gender, age and medical condition of all COVID victims and the statistics show that barely anyone had a disease related to the lungs, high blood pressure and heart related issues being the most common. How many of these people would have died even without corona in the foreseeable future? I think more than half of them would be a decent guess. The average age is well above 70.
  5. The question is (for quite some European countries as well): Do you consider a death by car accident (or any other causes which has no relation to the pandemic like cancer) a COVID death if the deceased had the virus? These differences in methodology prevent us to come up with a specific number when we are talking about global death count.

  7. For the past day: Hungary +3 Slovenia +17 Slovakia +19 Greece +60 Czechia +82 Austria +94 Croatia +116 N. Macedonia +205 Moldova +258 Poland +265 Bosnia +316 Serbia +386 Romania +592 Ukraine +819 Bulgaria still no info, but they had 330 the day before I guess we might just close the borders again, the number of active cases is on the rise everywhere. In many places the record was broken during this week. The Balkans are especially dangerous.
  8. I would gladly recommend some of them, but it would be nearly impossible to find English subtitles.

  10. It's really alarming that most of the neighbouring countries of Hungary report daily numbers comparable to mid-April. The number of active cases are increasing in Romania, Serbia, Croatia and Ukraine. Without border checks tourists will carry the virus all over the continent again and we are going back to square one.
  11. USA vs. Germany flattening the curve: You barely even notice the jump caused by the newly discovered cases in a German meat processing plant which made headlines everywhere in Europe.
  12. Hopefully it will leak soon, because otherwise I have no chance to see it. I don't get why they decided not to launch Disney+ globally. It's their loss.
  13. I mean they don't have a single English word in them (not even English dubbing), filmed with predominantly not English speaking cast. Of course this is your game and your rules, but I think there is a clear distinction between Passion and for example Inglorious Basterds which has major parts of the movie where the characters speak English both native and non-native speakers.
  14. Take away the music (which is top tier Disney) and all you have left is a decent story with a couple of great emotional moments and a rushed 2nd / 3rd act.
  15. Some FYCs, I watched them recently: Amélie - It's quite well known, but in case you haven't already seen it, do it! It's heartwarming, gorgeously filmed with beautiful music. It makes you feel good like no other movie. El método (The Method) - A very interesting Spanish film with 7 people competing for the same job. They recieve different tasks, the first one is to find the company's mole among themselves. Highly recommended! Incendies - It's one of Villeneuve's lesser known films, but trust me: it's definitely one of his best. It's eligible, becau
  16. The company I work for closes its factory for the 3rd time since the outbreak started, this time it's one week. These days count as paid leave, though it already passed 15 days (which is the amount the company can "force" me to use), so now I'm getting paid for staying at home. I'll take it. Active cases here are going down 3 weeks straight, so the restrictions are slowly getting lifted. First in the countryside, Budapest has a 2 week delay as the number of cases per capita is the highest here.
