This will disappoint at the boxoffice and prove that MBJ ain't a draw. Anyways, Marvel should have hired coogler and MBJ for Blade. I mean why not? Rdj can come back as Dr doom then this is possible too.

We've seen studios bet on January before and pay off big time because of its slower nature. Universal knows it. Studio execs are not that smart but even them know they can release any movie anywhere in the year if they have the movie and market it.
Obviously, since it is a slower month some Studios will take the opportunity to dump some of their movies that they have no confidence but the same goes for the other extreme.
Megan made money because of its concept, but boy o boy was it a piece of pooh.

The release date is highly concerning. If the studio had any faith they wouldn't be releasing it in the dump month.

Joker2 was never going to do as well as the first one nor was it going to get better reviews.

The alien franchise has a ceiling. Despite great reviews, this drops 61%. Not good. China cannot save always, so execs should not green light the sequel.

An alien movie managing 80+% on RT after so many misfires is impressive. Prey deserved a theatrical too. Next one will hopefully be good as well and revive the franchise theatrically.
Just wish this could crack 50M ow in North America. Ah well. 35-40 would do with hopefully decent legs.
