Complete and utter apathy and rejection. Probably the only market so far that had such a response to Avatar 2.

Sid Anand sure knows how to make banger of a trailer. Lots of subpar CGI in Pathan and weird dialogue delivery, but audience will eat up cuz it looks cool. Will seriously dent avatar, as all PLFs will be given to it. Srk is massively popular overseas, so expecting Bollywood/Indian cinema record breaking numbers.

650m is a problem right now
It will get there somehow. 700 looks tough.

First truly awful floppish number for Avatar both domestically and overseas.
600+ is certain, but 700 is still far far away.

I kinda feel like Marvel is setting up Peyton Reed to handle Secret Wars.
I thought Ryan cooler was doing that.

Megan definitely took a bite out of it. Would have done 50+.

Back to the Future and Who Framed Roger Rabbit are two of my favorite movies. Forrest Gump and Cast Away are also great. But man that motion capture obsession destroyed his career quality wise
I don't care what people say, but Polar Express was fun and Beowulf was fucking insanely balls to walls awesome.

Well damn...makes sense why this is going theatrical. Smile 2.0 all over again. Not sure it will do as well as that but this can do 70+. Let's see.
Zaslav saved this and Blue Beetle for theatrical. If this trailer is any indication, blue beetle must look pretty good too!
Good on Zaslav to give this theatrical. Just wished the idiots at fox/Disney had the balls to release Prey in theaters.

THE LITTLE MERMAID was never as popular as ALADDIN. It sold roughly half as many tickets worldwide.
Half the live action ALADDIN's box office = $523m
Then take away China and Russia = $448.2m
You might also have to adjust for ALADDIN's staggering over performance in Japan ($112m) and South Korea ($92m). Can LITTLE MERMAID replicate those?
For the sake of TLM fans and Hailey. You know what folks will say if it flops.

I saw the trailer with A2 imax show. It was in 3D as well. Not impressed at all. Visuals were meh and you dont have to compare with what JC has done with A2.
That's the point. They know movie is good. Just that underwater/ocean stuff is not even 1/5 of previous movie having those scenes.

Has received its MPA rating (PG for action/peril and some scary images), so it's basically done and awaiting release now.
A friend in USA said it is a good film and public will like it, but apparently Disney is worried about comparisons of underwater scenes / ocean scenes with Avatar 2. Should still do 250+ domestically and 450+ OS. Aladdin is way more popular worldwide and did a billion. Matching it will be a tough task.

I think reviews for this will be much better than expected ...90+%. Hence, MCU crowd will get excited and get it to a 105+ opening. Wom will be surprisingly very good..will end with 280+ domestically. It also helps that it will be the first big movie since Avatar 2, so it might overperform in international markets barring few. I have a feeling it will somehow crack 650M WW without China and Russia
-
Should have matched 68M of Aatar. Unhappy.
Overseas number is good.
Was hoping 1.5B WW by Monday, but now have to wait 2 more days.
Oh well.

it did 186 this weekend OS...
Excellent. Here is hoping it does 190+ when actuals come on Monday.
-
Sorry, but both domestic and Overseas numbers are meh. Wom isn't strong to deliver mindblowing results.
Was expecting 68+ and 180+ 3rd weekend in domestic and OS.
To do only 60+ and 150+ . bah. 700M+ Dom and 2B+ ww is dead.

Ugh. How can cat and panther be the same thing? It is orange cat, not orange panther. Panther is a bigger and more ferocious feline. Haven't you all watched Jungle Book? So annoying.
