  1. Deadline: FB debuted to $1.8M on 3,424 screens for the best start in the Potterverse outside Deathly Hallows 2. It should have good Sat/Sun holds, and Monday is a Bank Holiday. This could have a 4-day 180M lc ($9M).
  2. Cannot post the weekly table. Only highlight is that Dr. Strange passed Ant Man in lc yesterday. Bad ER notwithstanding, FB should have a decent opening. Here's HP's Top 5 OW in USD: HP7.2 $ 15,863,441 HP7.1 $ 7,916,490 HP5 $ 7,852,698 HP3 $ 7,391,093 HP6 $ 6,660,905
  3. Wonder Woman could spin JL's box office in an interesting way, but at this stage I'd say about BVS as well.
  4. Weekend actuals. Really good hold for Trolls, Dr. Strange on track to pass Antman in lc. Girl on the Train and The Arrival opened with the lowest ER ever. CANACINE will no longer report exact lc gross and audience numbers, from this week it's all rounded up ::CANACINE : Weekend of 11 - 13 November 2016:: TW LW Movie MXN Total Diff USD Total OW ER Audience Total 01 01 Trolls 31,960,000 97,750,000 -37.65% 1,652,971 5,055,630 0.05172 701,000 2,180,000 02 02 Doctor Strange: Hechicero Supremo 26,560,000 233,300,000 -44.04% 1,414,320 12,423,225 0.05325 491,000 4,580,000 03 NE La chica del tren (Girl on the Train) 22,190,000 22,390,000 1,104,618 1,114,574 0.04978 377,000 380,500 04 03 El contador (The Accountant) 18,990,000 61,910,000 -32.25% 982,163 3,201,985 0.05172 327,000 1,120,000 05 NE La llegada (The Arrival) 13,150,000 13,310,000 654,607 662,572 0.04978 226,000 229,000 06 NE Macho 12,480,000 12,610,000 621,254 627,726 0.04978 266,000 269,000 07 04 Kilómetro 31-2 7,160,000 32,230,000 -58.76% 370,315 1,666,936 0.05172 162,000 758,600 08 NE Las locuras de Robinson Crusoe 5,370,000 5,420,000 267,319 269,808 0.04978 123,000 124,700 09 05 La leyenda del Chupacabras 2,610,000 97,510,000 -61.93% 140,653 5,254,814 0.05389 71,800 2,510,000 10 06 El Jeremías 2,510,000 31,580,000 -57.73% 133,658 1,681,635 0.05325 55,200 736,300

  6. And we have numbers. Domestic: $486,094,009 47.4% + Foreign: $539,342,116 52.6% = Worldwide: $1,025,436,125
  7. Strong opening in China! Screendaily: Ang Lee’s Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk opened in ten markets across Asia with a $13.2m bow from more than 6,600 screens. It was the top new opener in China, landing second behind Doctor Strange with an estimated $11.7m debut. China, Taiwan Hong Kong and Macau were released by Bona Film Group. The majority of the overseas rollout begins in January with Brazil on January 19 and Mexico on January 20.
  8. Comscore reports a $6.2M OS weekend for a $80,385,000 total, $153,765,475 worldwide.
  9. Comscore reports a $183.1M OS for a $207,239,805 total. Not bad for a threequel these days.
  10. Strangely Disney hasn't released updated OS numbers for Dory, they are usually out by Sunday noon (PST) but none of the usual sites (Screendaily, Deadline, Mojo, TheNumbers) have reported them.
  11. Weekend estimates (Deadline, Screendaily). Very close Top 3! Trolls repeats at #1, $1.5M for a $4.9M total. Seems like Dr. Strange is #2, not sure if closer to Trolls or the Girl. The Girl on the Train opens to a decent $1.3M, #3. The Accountant had a $1.1M weekend, cum of $3.4M. Arrival opens to $665K, 49% ahead of District 9 (no idea of why the comparison, but oh well)
  12. Reviews so far have been stellar, everything points to a $750M+ WW total and there's already people in the media talking about another billion grosser.
  13. Very close to $100M OS! Screendaily reports a $99.8M total up to Thursday, $170M WW.
  14. Screendaily: Turning to the Disney stablemates, Pete’s Dragon reached $65.2m.
  15. Never thought the OS/DOM ratio would have been so hellish for this one! It's like IA5 +1000°C!
