  1. You guys are watching way too many post apocalyptic movies. And reading too much Hobbes (he wasn't right by the way).
  2. Just went to check cinemas here. Some places are still selling, others have already stopped.
  3. No surprises. I take this is wordwide? The pre-order is already up here and I was waiting to buy the ticket to the last moment. I wonder if reviews will still be hitting next week? A lot of people have watched this film and they were doing interviews just as usual.
  4. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a bit more even. It has many set pieces and a more expansive world... but twice the budget from the first one seems reasonable. You double the budget you double the profits, that's a known fact. I feel things are changing very fast. I feel like a delay is the best option, possibly the only option soon enough. Not that I believe things will get super bad, but the actions to contain the situation might be extremely disrruptive, like in Italy. Edit: case in point, it seems as I was typing this the NBA suspended the season.
  5. So, what's the expected impact of the coronavirus on this movie's bo? What a shame.
  6. Talking about videogame adaptations, what we need is a Mass Effect film with Emily Blunt as Commander Shepard.
  7. I like mischievous characters. Indeed, I should have enoyed the scene that she screamed back at a guy, I like characters that, say, learned to laugh at danger. Yet it didn't work for me. It felt she was trying too hard all the time. As I mention before in a previous post, like she was a teenager pretending to be in a superhero film.
  8. I'm not sure which moments you mean. She's already aware of her powers in the beginning of the film, only after she takes that thing off she really discover knew things. What I mean is her attitude throughout the film. Not every moment I guess, but most of the time.
  9. I really like him but this time I disagree. Or at least that's not why I disliked Larson's performance. She just felt... childish?
  10. And that's why I stated I don't think it's a flaw. Only something that got my attention, being a sci-fi fan.
  11. Ok, but my point is that tech is definitely faster than light. What Mar-Vell developed might be even faster, it might allow for even greater ranges. But that's another matter.
  12. FTL in sci-fi in any mode of travel that allows you to travel, well, faster than light. All the alien ships in the film could do that. I mean, if we assume they didn't, then they travelled 24 hours in sub-light speed. Which would put you barely out of the solar system. As I mentioned, it's not exactly a flaw, but it's a very weird way to word things, particulary if you're familiar with the concept. I dare say I'm not the first nor will be the last to bring this up, but when we think about the GA I wonder how many would know what FTL stands for or, more importanly, would care for waht I'm talking here. Just go with it.
