  1. OMG, I loved Brother Bear when I was young and still do nowadays. 🐻 I remember seeing that film in theaters back in 2003, and it was a fun & enjoyable experience. The memorable and engaging characters, the beautiful animation, emotional story and soundtrack (including the songs). And yeah, the low RT-score on that film is just ludicrous, since I think that Disney film has far more heart than it has any right to be. And yet Brother Bear was a big enough hit at over $250M worldwide for a traditional 2D animated Disney film, which while not as much as “Lilo & Stitch” & “The Princess and the Frog” from the same decade (2000’s), it did do more WW than all the other 2D animated Disney films at the time.
  2. Sweet. A neat little gross for the JP re-release. 👩🏻‍💼😁😄 Jurassic Park fans rejoice! @Brainbug
  3. Anyone hear about the theatrical Jurassic Park re-release coming out this weekend? It’s a 30th anniversary release. 👩🏻‍💼 Bet huge fans of the film and the franchise would check it out. Boosting up the DOM-lifetime gross, which currently is at $404.2M DOM.
  4. A Barbie movie outgrossing Titanic in the U.S? . Five years ago or so, that movie was the 3rd highest grosser DOM-wise of all time, now it’s at 9th place. And of Barbie does outgross it somehow, it’ll push it to 10th place. 😲🤯👩🏻‍💼
  5. Sadly those chinese films’s box office hasn’t been updated in Box Office Mojo yet, but they should.
  6. Could Barbie’s DOM grows finish at around $635-640M DOM? Between Avengers (623M) & Jurassic World (653M) DOM numbers or higher?
  7. True. Barbie might settle at around mid $1.5B to low $1.6B+ WW. Really like & adore all the the current top ten highest grossing films WW. 💁🏻‍♀️ We have no idea exactly what next uber-blockbuster might crack the top 10 WW, after Barbie. 👩🏻‍💼🤷🏻‍♀️
  8. The first ever live action pure comedy to hit over $1B+ WW in film history, and speaking of pure live action comedy films in general, it has overtaken the chinese film “Hi, Mom”.
  9. Looks like Barbie outgrossed all the Harry Potter films DOM. Harry’s reaction to this happening:
  10. Wow! That would be around the first Avengers’s numbers ($1.520B+) Above or below? 🤷🏻‍♀️
  11. Just $70M WW or less left for Barbie to overtake the chinese comedy film ”Hi, Mom” to become the highest grossing pure live action comedy (in general) of all time worldwide. Might get there in a few days or so. 👩🏻‍💼😲 Any idea where the WW-total for Barbie might end at?
  12. Well, if Oppenheimer gets re-released wide and with extra theaters and maybe with the help from awards push, then maybe it can get there. Depends on where it finishes DOM & WW. If it’s extremely close to $1B, then Universal might find a way to push it there.
  13. Well, there are one or more certain billion dollar-grossing movies amongs the $1B+ list that became cult classics either instantly or as the years would pass. So yes, there can be some of the highest grossing films of all time, that are considered cult-classics. Look at Titanic for example. 👩🏻‍💼💁🏻‍♀️
  14. If we’re talking live action pure comedy films in general (whether they be safe family-friendly comedies or raunchy R-rated comedies) , I think Barbie’s biggest box office goal is to outgross the $850M worldwide gross of the chinese comedy film ”Hi, Mom” in order to become the highest grossing live action comedy film of all time, worldwide. I think it’s likely to happen and then after that, it’ll eventually get to $1B+ WW, since there’s no movie after it at the scale of Barbie that will slow down the box office run. What do you guys think? 👩🏻‍💼💁🏻‍♀️
  15. Well, if we’re talking live action pure comedy films in general (whether they be safe family-friendly comedies or raunchy R-rated comedies) , I think Barbie’s biggest box office goal is to outgross the $850M worldwide gross of the chinese comedy film ”Hi, Mom” in order to become the highest grossing live action comedy film of all time, worldwide.
  16. Don’t get it either but in Hollywood’s eyes, the box office weekdays always look stronger during the summer. However, that doesn’t mean the summer is free from competition for one or more mega-blockbusters. I think partly why studios keep picking the summer for their bigger movies…i think it’s all about having their specific blockbuster to be THE highest grossing movie of the season. What’s wrong with putting a big movie in a better and competition-free month during say…the months that so far haven’t a $100M+ opener yet, like January and October for example? The Super Mario Bros Movie broke out in April and there was nothing else that could compete with it. 👩🏻‍💼🤷🏻‍♀️
  17. Cool list. And it’s awesome that Barbie managed to get the 3rd biggest OW of all movies released in July. Haven’t seen Barbie yet (will see it when I get the chance) but I do love all the other movies in this “Top 5 July Openings of all time”-list.
