  1. Funny that you mentioned the original The Lion King. Since that movie’s lifetime gross is at $422.8M DOM & $968.5M WW. And it’s one of those blockbusters that are so frustratingly close to the $1B WW-milestone. Hopefully in the future, a wide re-release would push it there. It’s just too good of movie to be stuck below the $1B-mark.
  2. If I would have pick a movie that i want to see get yet another theatrical re-release..it would be 2D-animated The Lion King (1994). That film’s lifetime gross is at $968.5M worldwide. Which makes it one of the big movies frustratingly close to the $1B WW-territory. I wish to see it have a fourth re-release just so it can get to the $1B-milestone. It’s just so good & fantastic masterpiece of a movie, not to join there. What is Hollywood doing not giving the OG Lion King more extra box office money?
  3. Not bad choices. Especially Independence Day.
  4. With decent grosses from the re-releases of Avatar 1 (back in September) & potentially Titanic (this February), what next old blockbuster movie from the past, do you wish would get a special re-release in theaters?
  5. Well, there was one re-release for Jurassic World which made 1.1M DOM which added it’s lifetime DOM gross to $653.4M. But aside from that small release, nothing big yet. 🤷🏻‍♀️
  6. Any blockbuster that makes over $600M+ DOM is always considered a good win and never a box office failure or box office disappointment. 💁🏻‍♀️😉🥳💰💸🤑
  7. Since we are speaking about James Cameron movies, any idea how much at the box office, can this 25 anniversary re-release of Titanic add to its lifetime DOM-gross? Since so far, Titanic’s lifetime gross is at $659M DOM. Inbetween the recent re-release grosses of Avatar 1 & Spider-Man: No Way Home? Less than those movies? More than those movies? Any idea how much it can make? 👩🏻‍💼
  8. 50+ movies that made over $1B+ WW and more. And Avatar: The Way of Water will be the next one to do it. 💁🏻‍♀️😉😄
  9. Or in terms of the potential ”highest grossing films of all time”, a situation like 2019’s ”The Lion King”, kinda. I dunno. 🤷🏻‍♀️ That one’s at 52% on RT. Hopefully this film doesn’t go anywhere down to that film’s reception or so. That would be embarrasing. 🤦🏻‍♀️
  10. Any guess how much Avatar: The Way of Water can gross on it’s Opening Day? Around similar numbers to how the first film made on it’s Opening Weekend or higher than that?
  11. Any idea how much wide the theater count will be for Avatar: TWOW? Since the first only went as wide as 3,461 theaters back in 2009/2010.
  12. So with the re-release incoming, any idea where TGM’s lifetime worldwide gross might be at if it gets released in OS-countries as well? Will it outgross Furious 7 & The Avengers for 9th highest grossing film WW?
  13. Is it just me or has Box Office Mojo never updated their ”Top Grossing Movies Adjusted for Inflation”-list yet? Monumentally huge blockbusters like “Spider-Man: No Way Home” & “Top Gun: Maverick” are nowhere to be seen among the top 100-list. 🤷🏻‍♀️ https://www.boxofficemojo.com/chart/top_lifetime_gross_adjusted/?adjust_gross_to=2022&ref_=bo_cso_ac
  14. Loved it. A perfect movie for me. 💁🏻‍♀️👍🏻 A+
  15. How much did each individual Harry Potter film do in China from this release?
  16. If there is a certain recent milestone for TGM to celebrate about, is that in terms of films released on the Memorial Day Weekend, it has now the highest OS gross ($704M OS) of all Memorial Day films, which means it has beaten Aladdin’s OS gross. Good job, TGM for taking a lot of the records from other films released in Memorial Day Weekend in general.
  17. Yeah. Even though his character isn’t an important one and just a cameo, he still DID make an appearance in that film. So it could count. 👩🏻‍💼🙆🏻‍♀️
  18. Minions 2 could do it if keeps holding very well. The two highest grossing animated films from Illumation currently, are Despicable Me 2 (2013) & The Secret Life of Pets (2016) with both around $368M DOM.
