  1. Next target for Top Gun: Maverick’s DOM gross, is Jurassic World’s $653M & Titanic’s $659M. Which would soon put TGM as the 7th highest grossing film DOM, off all time and as Paramount’s biggest hit to date. I hope those who (rightfully) loves Titanic, doesn’t get too sad or heartbroken if Top Gun 2 eventually outgrosses it. 💁🏻‍♀️🙆🏻‍♀️
  2. Does anyone think Minions: The Rise of Gru might outgross it’s predecessor DOM-wise? So far it’s being back and forth at being over/under the first film day after day. 🤷🏻‍♀️
  3. Almost mostly copied from what i said in the Jurassic World: Dominion thread: I really genuinely adore this film and had such a huge blast. I found the many good (great even) moments to overshadow the few bad ones. As many die-hard Jurassic lovers pointed out, the return of the OG trio JP characters together like Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler & Ian Malcolm, is such a delight. And the original cast really delivered here. Even the JW characters are very engaging as well. I really liked Owen, Claire & Maisie with the roles they have. Especially Maisie being one of the better & endearing kid/teen characters in the Jurassic franchise alongside Tim & Lex from the first Jurassic Park. The action (even the dino-action) here was very well-used here. I know there are some complaints of it being either too much or lack of it, but I think there was necessarily enough action to also make room for the more tender, calmer and even tense moments in the film. The dinos themselves are also well used enough here. At times there’s CGI (though great-looking ones) and other times they’re done practically like the dinos more close to the characters. It was cool to see both old & new dinosaurs in the film. Rexy was cool as always & Blue and it’s offspring Beta were fun to see. The Giganotosaurus was a really menacing & threatening Dino-villain (in a cool way) up there with Spinosaurus & Indominus Rex amongst one of the top Jurassic Dino baddies. Even the herbivorous dinos are put to good use here. Also…I’m aware of the backlash the film got due to the aspect of locusts, but to be honest…I didn’t mind the locusts in the film. I think they serve enough as a threat to what happens if we humans aren’t careful. I think it served as a new & interesting thing we haven’t seen before in any of the previous five films. Then there’s the epicly awesome battle between Rexy & Therizinosaurus vs the Giganotosaurus in the climax. And while it’s not as grandiose & earth-shaking as the battle against the Indominus Rex from the fourth film, this one is still one of the most suspenseful & breathtaking dino-fights in the entire Jurassic franchise. I rooted for Rexy to win and not to die, and thank god she stayed alive. All in all…I can understand why some folks don’t like the film or so (and it’s perfectly fine), but I don’t think it deserved the severe hate it got, at all. So I short, I loved it. Is it the first JP? No. But is it really worth watching as a Jurassic fan & as a general dinosaur fan and who wants to see cool dinos and engaging human protagonist characters? Yes. Overall, a very satisfying conclusion of the Jurassic World-films. And a true defender of it. My score for this, is a strong enough: A 9/10
  4. I finally saw Jurassic World: Dominion and I know I’m in a minority on this (since I’m aware of the flaws and how the film is for most other folks), but….screw the haters, lol. I really genuinely adore this one and had such a huge blast. I know this one’s not many people’s (and I do mean “many”) cup of tea, but I found the many good (great even) moments to overshadow the few bad ones. My score for this, is a strong enough: A 9/10. @Brainbug If you see this, the great news are that i’m in the group of those who really liked this one as another fun Jurassic World-entry in the entire Jurassic franchise. You got yourself another true fan of this film. 💁🏻‍♀️👍🏻
  5. One more $1B+ WW grosser left or so, and then the entire Top 50 highest grossing films (worldwide) will all consist of only billion dollar films. 🙆🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♀️🤑💸💰 And I applaud all those $1B+ films. Even those that had re-releases to get there. 👏🏻 🥳
  6. Yeah, it did. Correct. Though somehow DH2 didn’t get to $400M+ DOM for some reason, despite it being treated as the finale of the Harry Potter-franchise. 😲 It’s not like the WOM of that film was horrific or bad, right? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Since it was the most critically-acclaimed of all the HP-films.
  7. Since we’re talking older blockbuster franchises, it’s funny to imagine that there were times were both a Harry Potter-film and a Transformers-film went against each other in a summer, box office wise…three times as a pattern. First there was 2007 with TF1 & Harry Potter: Order of the Phonix: TF1 = $319M OoTP = $292M Then 2009 with Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen & Harry Potter: The Half-Blood Prince: TF2 = $402M HBP = $302M And lastly with Transformers: Dark of the Moon & Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows Part 2: TF3 = $352M DH2 = $381M Two times did Transformers beat HP, and one time did HP beat Transformers.
  8. Kinda surprised that out of all the biggest summer movies of 2007, Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix was the only one not to hit $300M+ DOM, considering it only had Transformers as competition to go against in July 2007. 🤷🏻‍♀️
  9. An extra honorable mention for TGM’s box office. It has eventually outgrossed Guy Ritchie’s “Aladdin” $1.050B worldwide, to become the highest grossing film released on the Memorial Day Weekend.
  10. With the way Top Gun: Maverick is doing at the WW box office, will it have a chance at outgrossing Transformers 3’s $1.123B to be the second highest grossing Paramount film worldwide only behind Titanic?
  11. So far, only two movies above $400M DOM this year: TGM & DS2. Also, Congratulations to Doctor Strange 2 hitting $400M+. 🎉🎊🍾🎈👏🏻😎🥳👩🏻‍🦰
  12. So TGM has done it. It outgrossed Transformers 2 for the second highest grossing film distributed by Paramount, DOM-wise of all time. Highest grossing Paramount movie DOM, currently still being Titanic. 💁🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️
  13. Yay! Weekend actuals go up for JWD, TGM & DS2. Can we see a case where Top Gun 2 overperforms through rest of June & July?
  14. With 3 (or 4 if you count the spinoff ”Zathura: A Space Adventure”) movies, yes. The first one of them starring Robin Williams, Kirsten Dunst & Bonnie Hunt, and two of it’s sequels starring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan & Jack Black.
  15. Yup. And beating FB3’s WW-gross as well. 👩🏻‍💼🙆🏻‍♀️ Can the fastest hedgehog go over a Wizarding World spinoff-threequel? I mean who saw that coming before this year?
  16. If neither DS2 or JWD hits $1B WW, they sadly might be on the group of ”Had shots at $1B+ but did not get there”. Along with the Hobbit sequels, The Jungle Book, Jumanji 2, Pirates 3, etc. Why is $1B WW for a film getting a bit harder for certain films? 👩🏻‍💼🙍🏻‍♀️
  17. Any guess how much Top Gun 2’s worldwide gross might be today or so? 👩🏻‍💼 Seems like it keeps grossing more and more.
  18. Yeah. What’s impressive is that Top Gun 2’s OW is higher than all those Transformers films, and it’s gonna beat Transformers 2’s DOM gross.
