Should be beaten if Sept/Oct aren't too bad which doesn't look like they will be.
Dec should be slightly below 2009's December But this Nov's Spectre, Hunger Games, Good Dinosaur should beat 2009's New Moon, 2012, and Blind Side. We'll see though.
1. TG - 38M / 57M
2. IO - 36M / 46M
3. JW - 35M/ 48M
4. MM2 - 28M / 51M
I wonder if the recent gay marriage legalization will help MM2? I don't know just a random thought. May not only be women driving out in loads!
It's hard to imagine JW falling below 90M this weekend. With Inside/Out going to be pulling around 85-95 Million wonder if it will hurt or maybe bring out more families ready for Minions. This summer should be the biggest I suppose. Wonder if it's possible for 2015 to near 12 Billion? 11 billion is all but assured.
I'm American and live in Mexico now. BUT man the Wednesday night showing of JW was packed and it was the SUB version which usually gets less people. Not to mention it was at 10:30PM on a WEDNESDAY. Everyone everywhere is eating JW up.
I do agree.
Titanic was legendary about a significant event in history.
Avatar was pretty much revolutionary in 3D and effects.
Avengers was the first team up of universally loved characters.
Jurassic World is the fourth sequel in a 22 year old franchise.
Nothing against JW but just feels slightly less special now, that 600 Million spot.
Holy crap! This beat Harry Potters record WW Opening. I think with good legs this can make over a Billion over seas and over 600 million Domestic. We'll see tough competition coming soon. But if the WOM is as good as I think Possibly 2 billion?!? Idk.
Long time lurker first time poster. I wanted to comment how crazy this weekend is being for JW. And Chris Pratt is undeniably going to be one of the biggest paid actors ever for the new few years. Already has franchises in WB, Uni, and Disney(Lego, GOTG, JW). Crazy.
This opening kind of makes sense though.. What movies have had dinosaurs in them in the past 10 years? The audiences were hungry for it.
