  1. Gosh I wish. I saw the film yesterday at the Double Feature Event and it was great! Still prefer the first to this, however only by a small margin (This may in part be due to watching it directly after the first film). This movie while having a good amount of cliches, had many mature aspects to make up for them and most importantly situations ANY family can relate to, in regards to the parents' relationship and the relationship between Bob and the kids (specifically Violet who goes through boy trouble). It was very realistic and gave me a warm feeling. On a side note, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Violet in this film. She's really matured some. BUT LET ME NOT RAMBLE, the thing that makes this movie have the potential to breakout ($180 million+, $600 million+) is how much of a four-quandrant crowd-pleaser it is! It's hilarious (particular Edna and Jack-Jack but Bob provides a good amount laughs), and the action sequences are out of this world. I honestly got chills at multiple occasions. Watching the movie leaves you wanting more (namely an Incredibles 3), so repeat viewings will be popular. Audiences will eat this up! So sure......why not? $16 million previews, $79 million Thu N/Friday, $66 million Saturday, $56 million Sunday, $201 million weekend) (Note, I think it will do $185 million but hey, anything can happen, right?)
  2. $15 million for previews would be absolutely INSANE
  3. Incredibles 2 about to break 60% and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom making an appearance 59.4% Incredibles 2, The 9.6% Ocean's 8 3.9% Solo: A Star Wars Story 3.6% Hereditary 3.3% Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
  4. 31.6% Incredibles 2, The 19.3% Ocean's 8 7.7% Solo: A Star Wars Story 7.2% Hereditary 6.1% Deadpool 2
  5. MT 4:55 PM EDT (Incredibles 2 Tops the tracking chart!) Incredibles 2 23.8% Ocean's 8 22.4% Solo: A Star Wars Story 9.2% Hereditary 8.5% Deadpool 2 7.5%
  6. MT 4:20 EDT (Incredibles 2 is catching up!) Ocean's 8 24% Incredibles 2 21.6% Solo: A Star Wars Story 9.8% Hereditary 8.6% Deadpool 2 8%
  7. Could Moana get $20 million more or does $10-15 million make more sense?
  8. Hoping Moana can develop some insane legs and end its run at $110 million (with a 17.5x multiplier which is identical to Zootopia's). This would push its global total to $700 million. I know, I know, it's unlikely, but possible. Hopefully, the movie explodes.
  9. Sing has had an amazing box office run! And what a multiplier! A massive 7.65x opening weekend to final gross (inflated multiplier due to Christmas Eve falling mid-weekend) and a still impressive 3.55x 6-day opening to final gross.
  10. Hoping for Japanese audiences to eat this up. Moana needs a breakout market!
  11. Sad Moana will very likely miss 300 million ($250 million is a very good number though), but at least that would make 2016 have 10 films grossing over $300 million domestically
  12. Moana surprisingly almost took the spot for me (I'm a crazy Zootopia fan/addict). I really loved how real and organic it felt (especially the character of Moana) and it got me more emotional, oh and I loved the atmospheric musical numbers; however, Zootopia just blew my mind when I watched it. It felt so relevant and important and I think the main characters are a tad bit more entertaining than Moana's side by side. Animation: Can't Decide Theme: Zootopia (hands down) Characters: Zootopia (This was hard because the character of Moana felt so real, and Maui got more development than I thought he would get. Also I really liked Grandma Tala.) Emotion: Moana Story: Can't Decide (Believe it or not, theme-aside, Zootopia's story had a lot of cliche moments in its mystery storyline, and is formulaic much like Moana, both executed wonderfully.) Humour: Moana (That chicken! I found myself laughing more in Moana. Zootopia got me thinking more often than laughing.) Music/Score/Atmosphere: Moana (although, I loved Zootopia's score and the feeling it gave me. Loved the song as well) World-building: Zootopia Concept: Zootopia Action/Intensity: Can't decide (Both got very intense, with high stakes) Overall Impact: Zootopia (4 to 3)
  13. I just hope its story is worthy of being told...you never know. Seems to be more like the first film which is a relief. None of the stupid spy shit and international racing. I'm not excited (yet) but instead curious.
  14. I see Moana at $343 million Domestic and $578 million Overseas (with a China release), for a $921 million total Worldwide.
  15. I see this landing $850-900 million which absolutely incredible for an original animation.
  16. Zootopia hits $340 million! And it's not even done yet! Could hit $345 million but $343-344 million is where it's headed!
  17. I started tracking box office after Frozen was released in November 2013 (I'm a humongous Disney/Animation fan) and that was around the time when I started reading these forums. I finally made an account on June 13, 2015 when Jurassic World was destroying on its opening Saturday. Before Frozen, I had no idea what "box office" was. Frozen's leggy run is what made me obsessed with box office and tracking movies (I've always loved movies including all the Harry Potter films).
  18. I don't remember much about Shrek 2's run...considering I was four
  19. 20 - $131,141 -35.1% / 78.2% 305 / $430 $339,638,383 / 109 Zootopia though! I know it's coming off a deflated Sunday but it's still impressive. Really showing of its sexy late legs
