I know. As a huge fan of the book the reviews and BO seem like a dream. I never expected either to be this good. Plus while I may have had a few disappointments with some changes from the novel I would still place the film as my new favorite horror movie.
Beverly, Richie, Bill, and Eddie were the best aspects of the film. I'm a huge Stranger Things fan and didn't see Mike at all. Im planning on checking out that new CBS show Me, Myself, and I just because it stars Eddie as the young version of the character.
It's bad enough the movie's terrible and in bad taste but I doubt many people want to watch a movie about a national tragedy with everything else going on this weekend.
IT and The Stand are my two favorite King novels and I've wanted proper adaptations for them both for a while. With IT's success I'm hoping Josh Boone isn't too far off from starting The Stand.
Well recently we've had the Carrie remake, Under The Dome, 11/22/63, Cell, The Mist, The Dark Tower, Mr. Mercedes, IT, and Gerald's Game at the end of the month. Along with Castle Rock coming up next year. And this is just the stuff already released or planned (even if some of it may not be good).
When the other trailers were Happy Death Day, Flatliners, Jigsaw, Justice League, and Geostorm it makes it stand out even more. And nope it was A Ghost Story which had me and the audience going WTF.
So without spoiling the book does anyone else think they're going to keep Ben and Mike's roles switched in Part 2 ? Especially since there was no foreshadowing of Ben's job in the future.
The whole Ben and Mike thing made no sense to me. And it made the trailer somewhat misleading since Mike saying my Grandfather says this town's cursed makes him sound like he's staying the historian. Although I did like the change with his parents dying in the fire and that being his fear. My one complaint is that I wish it would have been a little more faithful to the book.
