  1. I don't have intention of start a thread for each film. I wanted to put this data because they correspond to all those films (Gone With the wind, Disney, Star Wars) whose success of initial assistance is very complicated to measure due to its numerous re-estrenos. With a little patience everything will come in the post I mentioned before. Good weekend to everyone.
  2. When I finish my work I will publish a detailed Top of the most attended films of the United States and the countries with old data of admissions. This will be in the Top 10 grossing films per country post. I am nobody to lie and deny nothing. But this page was very complete and towards very detailed and consistent rankings. Because seeing the 20 million admissions of "Gone with the wind" the first thing that is thought is: come on! This movie was the Titanic of the 30s. But maybe you're right.

  4. http://boxofficechampions.wordpress.com/ This was the best source of information of historical data box office in USA. 3 years ago I Could copy informations of these page like these: Gonw With The Wind Releases YEAR FILM RELEASE PEAK WKS TICKETS ANNUAL 1939 First Run 1 11 61.521.739 1 1941 Re-Issue 1 5 23.000.000 2 1942 Re-Issue 4 5.629.630 51 1947 Re-Issue 5 20.080.000 20 1954 Re-Issue 2 23.426.667 10 1961 Re-Issue 1 2 19.420.290 8 1967 Re-Issue 1 10 48.701.667 2 1974 Re-Issue 3 7.785.027 34 1989 Re-Issue 605.369 137 1998 Re-Issue 1.439.256 143 Total: 211.609.645 “Gone With The Wind” is the biggest selling movie of all time with 211 million tickets. It was the number one film of the year when it was released in 1939 with 61.5 million tickets. Initially, it spent 11 weeks at number one on the weekly Box Office in 1940 (it was released in December 1939). Its first re-issue in 1941 was also a huge success with 23 million tickets, and 5 weeks at No.1. It surpassed “The Birth Of A Nation” (1915) as the No.1 Box Office film of all time. The most successful re-issue of “Wind” came in 1967 when the film topped Variety’s National Box Office Survey chart for 10 weeks and sold 48.7 million tickets. It was the No.2 Box Office hit of 1967, 28 years after its original release! This is quite impressive. Its last re-release was in 1998. That year it was also released on DVD for the first time and hit #1 on VideoScan’s video charts. “Gone With The Wind” spent a total of 28 weeks at No.1, and it was on the annual B.O. charts for ten different years (see the table above). It’s definitely the Number One Box Office hit of all time, in terms of admission ticket sales.
