Yes I do agree on the fact that they can focus on trying something else....but then Legendary might think to try to turn this into franchise as well...PR2 can do well even while reducing bit of cgi and giving proper attention to script/characters (which is major complain to the movie).
Anyways I doubt that sequel will happen though but you never know the studios.
-
They can definitely cut the cost for sequel...G.I Joe did that and got bigger stars as well in the process...reduce the cost and get one or two box office draws.

Looks like another Oscar nomination ticket for Bale

-
lol..neither do Ek Tha Tiger
-
This should do well with critics as it won't force action money shots like other sci fi's this year and hence being saved from the unevenness. Bit slow and talkative..decent performances...critics should like it
-
But much much bigger than Hemsworth in comparison
-
Yes...$350m WW is lock...$400m depends on Japan...it needs some kind of amazing performance like China there.
-
lol...yeah Avengers effect will be there...but Hemsworth is no RDJ

With around 85~$90M, it could hit (or miss) yearly 2013 top 10. But not top 7.
Not for a Hollywood movie..I think it may end up in top 3...which will be absolutely amazing.
What are the other upcoming hollywood movies this year which have potential to perform like/better than PR for the rest of the year?
-
Wow...so PR was indeed massive in China afterall
-
Why its really surprising that people like Spiderman? 1st and second were fantastic and people can't start hating just because of the third one.
-
It really needs similar (like china) kind of breakout in Japan for around $400m WW..can go either way
-
Really liked the movie...although pace of the movie drops at few occasions...but one of the better movies of the year. Should have done more.
-
So a realistic target based on OD will be around $70m?
-
Incredible opening for PR
-
I think this is among one of the top 5 movies of the year so far.
-
Very good indeed...visually it was stunning and Cruise was good. Deserved better at box office.
-
Germany's box office this year overall had been just meh
-
Didn't knew MI4 did $106m+ in China...damn man...thats just amazing
-
$500m WW is locked...so yeah...without China it will do around $550m WW
-
Damn that MOS drop...it officially kills all chances of $300m now
