  1. For those of you who want to keep track of BO figures from China, i attach a link to the Chinese film BO market. http://www.boxofficechina.com/beta/index.html It looks like SWTFA is coming to the end of its worthwhile BO earnings in China now.
  2. I like LUMIERE, as its just about the only site that gives film admissions in Europe, but at the same time i have noticed some abnomalies with some of their figures that in some cases don't seem to add up, so i don't take their figures as gospel.......unfortunately.
  3. Umm..........actually if EON get their act together for Bond 25, and give us something more in line like CR or SF, and the exchange rate improves a little, then SWTFA could be toppled, but apart from Bond, all other films in the foreseeable future stand jack shit of a chance of surpassing SWTFA.
  4. What is SPECTRE's latest gross at this time in Germany?...........thanks
  5. So, where does SWTFA look like it will finish in the UK in BO terms £ sterling, going by its current gross so far? btw:- The 'Revenant' is a pretty good film, liked the bear fight.
  6. In the UK we ignore the American RT system as it is a joke, because it gives 3rd rate reviewers from magazines with low circulations an opportunity to deliberately berate a film, knowing that it will give their magazine or website more notice, or click rates.
  7. Forget the Revenant, what i want to know is will Spectre reach £95 mil before the end of its run, last i heard it had £94.25 mil in the bank.
  8. Please dont mention oil on a film forum site, reason coz i lost a very good job last year, due to the drop in oil price, and the American owned company i worked for made large layoffs in the UK. Back to the film world, its quite staggering the number of screenings a film can lose daily in China, from this Thursday to Friday alone SWTFA lost around 12,000 screenings!
  9. Yes, i find this very confusing and annoying, in that BO sites take the current exchange rate and apply it to the whole run of the film. I noticed that from mid December onwards the BO take for Spectre in the UK, has in dollar terms been pretty static, or going down in some cases, even though the films domestic gross has been continually going up. I think that BO sites , at the minimum should calculate the gross on a week to week basis, for what the exchange rate is at that time, then over time the dollar gross would be more accurate. Is there anyone here in the film business, who can explain how the studios deal with this?
  10. Talk about burnout. Considering its big start in China due to the marketing push, and to seeing the film out of curiosity, it looks like the Chinese view SWTFA as just another SCI-FI film. You can understand why, as the original trilogy was not able to of been shown in China, therefore the Chinese have no history to connect with this franchise, except for the poor 2nd trilogy. Plus its not part of their culture. You could expect that for example, how would a Chinese film franchise go down in N.America and Europe, the films could be popular, but not to the stratosphere levels of home grown films. SWTFA is losing thousands of screens each day in China, and that's even before other big films, are released soon.
  11. Romanians seem to like Jean Claude Van Damme films a lot, i counted several of his films in this list. Keep posting these charts from your respective countries, as it gives a good insight into what cinematic icons click with different peoples from around the world.
  12. It looks like Spectre will end up somewhere around the $880 mil mark Worldwide, when every dollar is squeezed from the cinema going public. Then its off to the home market of DVD and Blu-ray sales. Does anyone here know how much Skyfall made from the home market worldwide?
  13. Like some members have said, we will have to wait just a few days to see what the likely BO tally could be for SWTFA in China. Having a big start doesn't mean too much, as films can drop off massively in that market after their opening weekends, plus the film will be up against some stiff competition during its short run as i believe 'Kung Fu Panda 3' is coming out soon, and we all know the Chinese love Kung Fu movies.
  14. Yes, we knew it was going to happen, But as i'am a big Bond fan, there is no need to rub it in sunshine. Anyway Bond at no2 and no3 in the UK all-time (non-adjusted) list is bloody good.
