The CGI has been looking mediocre (absolute trash in some scenes) so I kinda believe that budget.
Impressive how only Marvel has managed to do 200m+ movies that look way cheaper than recent tentpoles with way less budget.
Yeah no way this is releasing this year, even if the werewolf is all practical effects like some people say, 4 months of post-production is too little time to finish the film.
The all female reboot killed the IP (it was already dead), the Paul Rudd film was ok but it didn't deserve a sequel.
I think this franchise is too goofy for adults and too old-school for the new generations. The oldsters don't care abut this either.
The best they can do is move the IP to the small screen and change the tone to something similar to stranger things.
His next film should be the Warhammer project. But I doubt he will want to continue to adapt franchises. Most likely he will begin to make his dream films, like Nolan has been since he left the Batman trilogy.
Dune Messiah is obviously happening, pretty sure is going to be splitted in two movies.
WB is just waiting for the Max release or still discussing the paycheck figures for Denis and Co.
BTW, saw this movie twice already and its fucking spectacular, can´t remember something this epic on the big screen since the Lord of the Rings movies.
At least the VFX and CGI are going to be top notch, which is one of the selling points for this franchise, so it´s a good start for once.
I also think Gareth has some passion about the franchise.
After Echo I expect nothing but disappointment from Marvel, if Deadpool 3 turns out to be good it was because Reynolds and his creative team, exactly like Guardians 3 with Gunn.
Also, this negativity towards CBM is not bias, is a well known feeling across the GA, people are really tired of people in spandex suits I guess.
Less and less people are consuming their products (Movies, Parks, Disney +, etc.) that is the definition of failure.
Stock value is irrelevant as it's purely speculative and they have been laying off many people so the corpos investing on them are happy.
Yeah, I´m getting a lot of cloverfield vibes, from the first one (The camera work, the aesthetic, monster frames, etc.)
This looks OK, seems like a brainless action flick.
You were spot-on

LMAO these days almost everyone in hollywood is juiced up, "good genetics" and "chicken and broccoli" is derision at this point.
Do you really think a 50 plus guy like the Rock is having all that beef without hormones and steroids?
