What is funny to me is that if no sites predicted 200 mil this would be an over performance. So called "experts" get carried away and now sub 200 is disappointing. A few months ago there were still people saying 120 to 150. All it takes is a publication over predicting and 180 is now a failure. It's still on track to be the #2 MCU film when all is said and done, but okay let's all freak out. -
Fairly certain she doesn't have a plaque at all. You're thinking of handprints in front of the Chinese theater. You gotta put in more years before you can buy a Walk of Fame plaque.

Pets and Bourne will both do 100. I haven't even looked at the rest of their lineup.

I finally saw BvS yesterday. There were things I really liked but I was mostly just bored. Some things were beyond ridiculous but my biggest problem was that it is boring. I don't get people who hate the film but really don't get people who love it either.

Your post seemed to imply you were annoyed that yet another poster was using the template. If it's making fun I don't really see a problem with them using it.

Aqua Teen came out after though. I was actually one of the five people to see it in theaters. That movie might have the best intro of all time.

I mean they don't look alike to me but they are both pale red heads. That makes them similar in at least two ways. -
It doesn't matter if people leave disappointed. Putting Cloverfield in the title means they'll at least quadruple that 5m budget OW. It could fall off a cliff after that and the studio won't care.

Comedy Central, Adult Swim, and when I was at the bar the other day like five spots came on ESPN. I'm pretty sure I've seen them on more channels than that too.

Really? I've seen constant ads for this. According to ispot it has aired over 3,000 national spots. That is a ton for a movie like this.

Now that I think of it I saw Shrek 3(smdh) and Corpse Bride in theaters. I also saw The Simpsons Movie but I don't count that as a kids film.

I'll watch that at home. I don't usually go to the theater to see animated kids movies. Last time I did that was Toy Story 3. Lord only knows the last time I went before that. Probably to see Toy Story 2.

I honestly doubt I go to the theater again until BvS. If WOM on 10 Cloverfield Lane is good I might check it out.

I enjoyed this quite a bit. There is an aspect of the ending I didn't really dig, but aside from that I liked it. It's definitely not a scary film though.

I mean it was purchased for 1m and probably spent the same on marketing. I'd call this a rousing success.

Cinema score has so much to do with audience expectations. Look at Hail, Casear which audiences hated. They wanted broad all star comedy and got Coen Bros. With The Witch they want standard horror fare when they hear how scary it's supposed to be.

Turtles in Time might be my favorite video game ever. Goldeneye and MK 2 and 3 are up there too.

This can only be a WOM hit. They only began showing tv spots a week and a half before release. That said I have heard a couple of people at work talk about it. I'm definitely going to go see it.
