Captain America: Civil War (2016)

What was wrong with the romance? It was short, and had things that propelled the plot. -

I'm not seeing There Will be Blood, and Gone Girl ranked high enough on people's lists. Neither is The Avengers, but it's probably asking too much... At least Pulp Fiction and Unforgiven will probably get their deserved spaces... -
Well, you must mean the 4th comoared to the fourth, because Ant-man's fifth monday is 391k and BvS's fourth is 650k. Ant-man's 4th is 686k, tought... Edit: my bad, it is the fifth, was looking at the charts wrong...

I was happy with U Deadpool DOM, but now I have a new dream: U Guardians DOM... Is that asking too much?

Ratchet & Clank | 4.29.2016 | Teaser Trailer on Page 1
ThiagoMaia replied to Deep Wang's topic in Box Office Discussion
I love the games but this is not gonna do great... The trailer felt like all the jokes are the same: a character or the narrator saying something, and the exact opposite happening. Though that lame formula for a joke worked quite well for Sponge Bob last year... Hope at least Assassins Creed is successful in December... Enviado de meu XT1097 usando Tapatalk -
I've been thinking to see it from Day 1, Due to heavy wok and no one to watch out the company i had to stay and didn't get a chance. I'll see this mostly tomorrow or this weekend. Do people actually go to the movies with other people? Huh

Can everyone just update Deadpool into their predictions after the year has begun? Enviado de meu XT1097 usando Tapatalk

LOL, how are you completely ignoring BvS and CW? And yes, I think SS will make more too. Marketing for it till now has been nothing short of incredible. Well, I was taking it for granted that they are going to be numbers 1 and 2 CBMs of the year. I think SS might be bigger than Deadpool, but that is looking harder at each update, and I don't see it as a lock, which you seem to be considering... Also, what marketing are you talking about? I only remember the usual trailers...

In case you misunderstood me, I didn't say that Apocalypse (and Resurgence) will join the club, but rather that it's far more likely that will happen than them flopping. But I agree that Apocalypse won't hit the billion but only because of the extremely crowded Summer line-up; DOFP not reaching higher than the high 700Ms it did also had to do w/an overcrowded Summer. As well as the fact that the X-Men franchise had been a slow performer for quite a few years by that point due to the lack of quality in some of the films, w/audience's fate only beggining to be restored after First Class, and The Wolverine did only okay business on top of that; but that wouldn't be a problem for Apocalypse, given how amazingly well recieved DOFP was. I see what you mean. Don't agree about DofP hitting a billion, tought. How was that summer too crowded? The biggest movie was Guardians of the galaxy, this years summer had 3 movies over that, and one almost as big... 2014's summer had only Guardians, Apes, ASM2 and HTTYD2 both underperformed... I don't see any summer in the years to come as slow as that one...

I get why would you think that regarding IA5, but that franchise is an absolute beast WW anyway so that's no issue. And XMA and ID42 are WAY more likely to join the 1 billion club than bombing all together. X-Men franchise has always been a big deal and DOFP was a huge earner, plus the success of Deadpool will only further audience's interest in the franchise. And ID4 was a bombastic success back in 1996, just north of $300M domestic, one that a lot of people feel huge nostalgia for, which could incite a serious case of Jurassic World-syndrome incoming. It's very likely that Deadpool will be bigger than them, yeah, but they're not coming close to flopping. Just looked at the Ice Age worlwide numbers and they are way bigger than I expected, at least for the 4th, that one sucked so bad... I see your point about ressurgence, and I had JW at low 200s last year, so I might be very wrong, but still, think it's not going to be too big. About the 1 billion remark, I think Apocalypse is very unlikely to make a billion, because DOFP was far from that even tought it was a great movie marketed as a big event, and this year is way more crowded than 2014, so I can't possibly see it making more than high 800s, my prediction would be under DOFP...
