  1. Yeah, I found the dialogue to be pretty weak as well. A few more lines between Luke and the others (well, mostly Din) would have improved the scene by a lot. As it is, I felt the execution wasn't nearly as good as the concept, and what makes the scene is the goodbye between Din and Grogu.
  2. Isn't this show supposed to start in 2022? Splitting it into two blocks might be possible, but I don't think that we will see any episodes next year yet. It might be possible that the whole Corona-virus situation has caused a delay in production to the extend that the Boba Fett show will be the next thing that runs, and later than The Mandalorian did this year and last year. At this point it looks like 2021 will be rather empty, while 2022 will be a complete overload.
  3. I thought it was a pretty good episode, but it didn't really capture me as it did for other people. There were some pieces in there that could have been brilliant but which I felt weren't executed as well as they could have been.
  4. Something that came to my mind, there is another callback to KOTOR, though I'm not sure if it was intentional or not.
  5. That was a truly great episode for me. Might be up there with the favourites of the entire show, and who would know it, it was once again directed by Rick Famuyiwa. Great action sequences, great character work, an outstanding Bill Burr, just flat out awesome all around Give that man an entire movie already. Some further notes:
  6. Pretty good episode. Didn't expect to get Tython this early, and I don't think it looked all that impressive, but it wasn't all that relevant to the story anyway.
  7. That reminds me, it took me ages to remember how the name Grievous got spelled, so I always had to look it up before I wrote it. I can't even remember how often I had to do that Ah yes, the NJO. I did get through all of them, there was some fun stuff in there, but it was a downward trend. I never bothered with the books that followed. Thank god there were also movies and the KOTOR-games (plus some others) around at that time. Not TOR though, never had a thing for MMOs. A bit later I think I was mostly down to reading the KOTOR-comics and the odd stuff that seemed vaguely interesting. Beyond that it was all about reliving the old stuff again, the movies, reading the Thrawn trilogy for the 20th time or so, the games, etc.
  8. Yeah, that option was something that came to my mind as well. It would be very fitting. Apart from that:
  9. Yeah, there's slowly one KOTOR reference creeping in after another Tython, while not from KOTOR, is another Old Republic reference, coming from the old Darth Bane novels and then TOR. Very nice episode, though since I do not care nearly as much about any Clone Wars or Rebels stuff as others do, nothing that really blew my mind.
  10. Mhm, I thought it was at least the second best, only beaten by the first one.
  11. I'm not sure if the budget really changed. Season 1 was already the second or third most expensive show per episode, and production of season 2 already started before they could see how successful the show would be. Seems unlikely that they would blow up the budget before even having any idea of how much success they would have.
  12. Oh yeah, that was very reminiscent of the game. The inclusion of the Sand People, the cave the dragon was in, using Banthas as bait, using explosives to kill the dragon, the Pearl inside it. It was obviously more drawn out and epic, but otherwise clearly taken from KOTOR. It's great to see some people involved haven't forgotten about it. It's some of the finest Star Wars stuff out there. The only bad thing about things from KOTOR being picked up here and there in other parts of Star Wars is that it makes an actual version of KOTOR less likely.
  13. Sounds like theaters are allowed to show some hit movies from the past to get them going again. E.g. Disney allows them to show Empire strikes Back (in English), as well as TFA, TLJ and Rogue One. I've also seen the third Hobbit and fourth Harry Potter scheduled at Cinemaxx.
  14. Really loved the books back in days. I think things tailed off a bit in the following series, but Percy Jackson itself was great. The two movies were pretty enjoyable, and I liked the leads quite a bit (even if it meant increasing the age of the main characters compared to the book-series), but they were quite far away from the story the books told.
  15. Third trend is up, little change up top apart from The Invisible Man increasing by 15k, but quite a bit of movement below that: #1 Sonic the Hedgehog 200k #2 Nightlife 170k #3 The Invisible Man 120k #4 The Gentlemen 107.5k #5 Lassie 90k #6 Parasite 75k #7 Chaos auf der Feuerwache 65k #8 Call of the Wild 52.5k #9 Dolittle 47.5k #10 Enkel für Anfänger 45k #10 Bad Boys for Life 45k
  16. It was actually something that was decided on very early, years before they came close to getting a script done. The first attempt at a script included a teenage daughter, but Spielberg asked for this to be changed into a son, because he just had a teenage girl with similar character traits in his (then) most recent Jurassic Park movie. The age obviously went up due to all the years it took to get to the final script.
  17. Not so sure, after all, the only American production to beat those two Bond-movies in terms of admissions over the last decade was The Force Awakens. Bond is simply much more in line with German tastes than what Hollywood mostly produces now. In terms of money made, only TFA, TLJ and the first Hobbit beat out Spectre and Skyfall over the last decade.
  18. So, TROS actually did make it past €60m with this weekend, first movie to do so since TLJ. I guess No Time to Die should have a good chance to be the next movie to get past that mark, seeing how Skyfall and Spectre both made ~66-67m. Both topped 7m admissions as well. Funny how the "off-year" in terms of huge blockbusters for the USA / worldwide might actually deliver a larger movie in Germany than the "year of blockbusters" 2019.
  19. Monday numbers from insidekino see no real change at the top, but some improvement beyond that: #1 Sonic the Hedgehog 250k #2 Nightlife 200k #3 Parasite 110k #4 Lassie 105k (back to the number it started the first trend with) #5 The Call of the Wild 85k #6 Dolittle 70k #7 Enkel für Anfänger 67.5k #8 Bad Boys for Life 62.5k #9 Fantasy Island 60k (doesn't get listed in the post, but stands at 60k in the chart on the right, maybe with previews?) #10 Birds of Prey 55k
  20. Has there been no casting, like Collider claims, or has there simple been no casting news yet? Not sure when Shia LeBeouf was announced, but Cate Blanchett, Ray Winstone and John Hurt weren't announced until early June, less than two weeks before principal photography began. Karen Allen was kept a secret for a bit longer. So there not being any news about this wouldn't be much of an issue at all. However, if there hasn't been any casting at all yet, then it could get quite tough to start this spring or summer.
  21. I don't see where you got possibly connect the two things. The box office result couldn't be less relevant. They just had the release of the highly successful The Mandalorian, and Obi Wan is eagerly anticipated by fans, the outcome of IX couldn't have less to do with this. if anything, the sucess of The Mandalorian would accelerate this project. The only idea that might be somewhat plausible, is that their original movie for 2022 isn't happening, and now they are considering turning the Obi Wan show back into a movie again to fill that slot. Otherwise everything just points at a regular delay that happens because they aren't quite happy with where they were at that point in time. And why anyone would even bother to post the drivel that comes out of Grace Randolph's mouth every day is beyond me. She is the definition of flinging mud at a wall in the hope that some of it sticks.
  22. So, with that weekend SW9 has actually passed Endgame for no. 1 of the year in terms of currency. And it might just have enough steam left to top the 60m mark. Kind of weird when a movie is ahead by 1.5m admissions but ends up with less money made. The third and fifth (provided Das perfekte Geheimnis makes it past Endgame, which it should) ranked movie ending up no. 1 and 2 in terms of currency makes for a weird looking chart. Then again, last year the 4th placed movie in admissions ended up second in terms of currency as well.
  23. I don't think it makes much of a difference at all. People still need to go and see the movie, they don't just appear at a theater and get forced to watch a specific movie that they don't get to choose. There might be a very small benefit due to having more expensive shows available, but that is pretty negligible compared to the gross as a whole.
