  1. I'm hoping this is at least a semi-hit for Paramount because their choices are paying off in a big way this year (A Quiet Place, Mission: Impossible - Fallout), and it'd be awesome for them to continue to be encouraged to make intriguing risks with their content.
  2. Wouldn't surprise me. I think that's what was done with American Sniper tbh. Many of the current Oscar candidates don't necessarily seem like films that would usually get nominated (at least to me), so Warner Bros might have a very good opportunity here.
  3. 1. Searching 2. Kin 3. Operation Finale 4. God Bless The Broken Road 5. The Predator 6. Unbroken: Path To Redemption 7. Life Itself 8. The House With A Clock in its Walls 9. Smallfoot 10. First Man
  4. I think it's a shame that Indivisible, faith-based film about a war veteran's marriage, wasn't at least on the list of films to choose from. There hasn't been any marketing for it, so I understand. I'm gonna continue my trend of voting for overlooked films after Alpha and Life Itself, and this time, I'm voting for Serenity. It's been a long time since there's been a small scale thriller such as this in wide release, and I've heard great things about the director -- he also directed Locke -- so I'm optimistic that the film will at least be a fun time. Edit: Serenity got pushed to January, so I changed my vote to A Star is Born because I have a family member that is really excited to see the film, and I'll be going with them to see it. And, hey, I'm sure I'm gonna like it. I am an absolute sucker for good movie musicals.
  5. I wonder if we're still going to get a new episode tonight...
  6. I disagree wholeheartedly. The visuals and production design were top notch imo, and I appreciated how Scarlett Johansson tapped into the robotic nature of the Major character in her own way. She approached the role as an artist, and I must commend that no matter how mixed the reception was.
  7. A Annihilation The Death of Stalin Maquia: When The Promised Flower Blooms Mission: Impossible - Fallout A- Black Panther BlacKkKlansman The Incredibles 2 Isle of Dogs Lean On Pete A Quiet Place B+ Avengers: Infinity War B Game Night I Can Only Imagine B- Adrift The Equalizer 2 Solo: A Star Wars Story C+ Paul, Apostle of Christ Skyscraper C I Feel Pretty Maze Runner: The Death Cure F The Hurricane Heist DNF (Did Not Finish) Unsane (because of time constraints) (*Films are not being ranked until further notice; instead, films with the same grade are listed in alphabetical order.*)
  8. It was probably a wise decision; the only competing wide releases are the undermarketed Kin and a spanish-language film from the ones who distributed Overboard, so the film is well positioned to perform like Wind River.
  9. I think this upcoming episode is one that I've really been anticipating from a personal standpoint, mainly because it's such a different week from the other ones so far. Both the story and the game are getting more and more interesting as it goes along!
  10. I found a clue when I looked at Common Sense Media; apparently, the dialogue is a made-up prehistoric language with English subtitles.
  11. 1. Searching 2. Kin 3. Operation Finale 4. God Bless The Broken Road 5. The Predator 6. Unbroken: Path To Redemption 7. Life Itself 8. The House With A Clock in its Walls 9. Smallfoot 10. Papillon
  12. I guess John Wick increased people's taste in action films en masse. That, or people disagree strongly with Berg's political philosophy. Either way, an action film with unnecessary shaky cam and fast-paced editing deserves reception like this in 2018. Iko Uwais deserved better.
  13. Perhaps. Because five-sixths of the Hollywood films we're getting right now seem to have had their ideas provided by children themselves.
  14. I dunno what Lionsgate's doing, but it's to the point where YouTube surveys are the only place I'm seeing this. Did they have one too many flops or something? Edit: Twenty-One Laps Entertainment. There it is. They're the ones that just flopped with Darkest Minds. Something's happened in response to the correlation with one of the worst flops of the year.
