  1. I've finally gotten back into the cinema scene. Here are my top ten: 1. Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi 2. Justice League 3. Dunkirk 4. Blade Runner 2049 5. Despicable Me 3 6. Murder on the Orient Express 7. Atomic Blonde 8. Han Solo 9. Avengers - Infinity War 10. 47 Meters Down
  2. Don't be jealous that Star Wars kicked every Harry Potter's ass.
  3. Well... they didn't defy the laws of physics too much... that's a plus... I guess... However, two things got to me that I just... sigh... cannot get over. #1 - In Cuba, there is no way that Dom could go reverse as fast as a car going in drive; transmissions just don't work that way (yes, they defy the laws of physics in every movie, but for a series based on Street Racing, some mechanics has to be involved). And #2 - Now that Dom has a kid, they have to figure out a way to bring back Mia and Brian back into the fold. Family... right? Dom's son needs to know his cousins and Aunt and Uncle. What are they doing to do? Anyway, silly nonsense of a movie. I give it a C-.
  4. That's in my hometown. I live 5 minutes away, up Kennydale Hill.
  5. Today's the day, people. Mark it down - January 16, 2016 - as the day Star Wars dethroned Avatar on the adjusted gross chart. Maybe next weekend or sometime shortly thereafter, it'll get the magical mark of 100M tickets sold; a feat only 9 films ever accomplished. May the Force be with us all!
  6. We went and saw the Revenant yesterday. I gotta say... it'll be a close race between Leo DiCaprio and Will Smith for Best Actor. Both movies were just awesome. I'm glad it is doing well, financially. Star Wars' dream of ten figures is officially over, but that shouldn't take anything away from what it did. For it to become only the 11th movie ever to take in 100M tickets in first run... I will die happy.
  7. 230M away from the magic number of $1,000,000,000. As cool as that would be, I just don't see it. Passing Titanic WW would be pretty sweet.
  8. Still, getting a billion would be pretty sweet. Already 3/4 of the way there.
  9. I think an even more impressive stastic about Titanic is the total number of days it made over 1 million consecutively. 98. Will never happen again.
  10. This may be off topic, but a more fruitful search would be what Jaws really made. 260,000,000 exactly? Come on, man.
  11. I really hope this movie can get 40M today. I was talking to a couple at dinner who are seeing it for the first time. I saw Concussion today, and at my local theater, two showings were sold out. It would really be cool if it can take the January record from American Sniper. I'm a fan of it getting 1B. It needs to challenge Titanic for modern Box Office first run.
  12. While a 100M weekend would've been fantastic, I'll take anything over American Sniper. For a third weekend of 90+M and getting near Avatar after only 17 days... unfathomable. The power of the Force is indeed, strong within you.
  13. Star Wars needs $23,236,074 today to pass Jurassic World as the highest grossing movie of the calendar year. As cool as that would be, I just don't see it. I still think it'll get 20M+, but not 23.2M+. Still, though, this is Disney's biggest movie ever. Impressive... most impressive.
  14. I don't see how it won't. That splits today and tomorrow at 25.7M each. Doable.
